It gets even more amazing....

If you find the place in the alphabet of each letter in SAM HILL

S-19

A-1

M-13

H-8

I-9

L-12

L-12

add them all up you get 74....7 and 4 equal 11

OR.......add all the DIGITS...1,9,1,1,3,8,9,1,2,1,2......equal 38.....3 and 8 equal 11

....can't find my post on all other things 11 <_<

......must go to bed......me brain hurts :(

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!!!!!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING, ALL YOU YANKS!!!!

....And good luck to Nik in her quest for Thanksgiving status across the pond. . . . .. ;)

Too much madness to quote from last night . ....... . am thinking that I am relieved to have missed it all, actually - - 'twas numbers and mathS .. .. ..

I will repeat Ptaoughmghmn's excellent question, howevah: Why doesn't the terrifying 11 reduce to 2? I'm saying it should, so there. :P Two is symbolically a very unthreatening, in fact loving, peaceful number.

So relax.

OMG. . . . . . . .DOG SIN PHOTOS. :o I think I've heard about these websites. . .. ....Soooozie, ya gotta stay vigilant .. . . blurry shots are covertly taken of terriers pooping in public parks, hounds digging up the neighboUr's garden.. . . ..Weezie could be featured on this site, attacking garbage cans, wolfing down the refuse. . ....... .'Twould be humiliating. ... ...

Happy Thanksgiving!! :D

Gawd, I can't even begin to comment on the goings-on here last night :o:blink: Way too much maths fer me wee little pea brain.

Soozle said "prophanity" You all got rid of it, but I'm sure it was very phunny :P

What else??? Just took me spice cake out of the oven--smells devine B)

Yes Jan-it, you may have pie fer breakfast......after all, you made said pie.....ergo it's your call ;):D

This morning on GMA, they did a segment on Thanksgiving cooking. One question from "a viewer" was that her daughter has Celiac and she was wondering what would be the best thing to thicken her gravy with. Pretty cool, eh?? :P Love it when we hit the big time :D

jerseyangel Proficient

So-o-o-o......

I'm puttering around the kitchen with the Thanksgiving Day Parade in Philadelphia on TV in the background. I have to say I think we'd phit in well there--a giant balloon of Sam Hill floating high above whilst we Sillies in snowphlake sweaters, our pets in antlers phrolic below--waiving and cavorting. Wif confetti--lots of confetti

We could all stay at Em's hotel--a phab happy hour to be had there!!

Maybe next year? :P

Happy T-Day all (even the non-over-indulgers).

Darn-it Janit! Pie is made from fruits or veggies, it is the perfect breakfast food.

OK you guys. I have a confession.

Something I've never told you about.

I have an addiction.

yes

I'm addicted to

yarn.

I've been doing so well. I vowed to use all my stash before getting more and so I've been madly knitting hats and oddly striped scarfs to use up the small pieces but yesterday...

Someone offered up 10 skeins of cotton on freecycle and I thought, it's only 10. And it's free, after all.

So I went to her house and she launched into this long frazzled story about how she decided to clean out her yarn stash on the same weekend that her mom's coming and Thanksgiving and blah blah blah and she hasn't yet had a chance to sort out the skeins I came for and did I just want her whole bag

:D

sure

And so I have this big bag of beautiful purple and red and the fuschia cotton and some other cottons and some mohair and one skein of a weird green called celery (whadamI gonna do with that?)

I need a 12-step program

Yes Janet, by all means have pie for breakfast!! Tis Thanksgiving afterall, give thanks to (what kind of pie is it? pumpkin? apple?) ....give thanks to the pumpkin and apple!!! :D

Wonder if Bev made it through the night without eating her chocolate trifle?!?! Sounds delish Bev, I think it needs more chocolate though, it should be drizzled heavily with a fudgie chocolate sauce to really complete it

Kroeger has quite a few Gluten free items.  Right now they are redoing my Kroeger store and are adding everything into the regular sections.  Since this was done some new ones have been added.  Publix and Ingles also have great selections. I actually shop Walmart and Food City to since prices on some items vary from store to store.

Sorry but I don't have specific recommendations for doctors, however, starting out with good multivitamins/minerals would make sense. You may want to get your doctor to screen you for where you different levels are now to help identify any that are low, but since you're newly diagnosed within the past year, supplementation is usually essential for most celiacs.

Yes, I can imagine. My celiac journey started with a rejection of a blood donation by the Red Cross when I was 37 because of elevated liver enzymes. I wasn't a drinker and my family doctor checked me for hepatitis and I was not overweight. No answers. I thought no more about it until six years later when I landed a job in a healthcare setting where I got annual CMP screenings as part of my benefits. The liver enzymes were continually elevated and creeping up every year, though they were never super high. My primary care doc had no clue. I got really worried as your liver is pretty important. I finally made an appointment with a GI doc myself and the first thing he did was test me for celiac disease. I was positive. That was in about 1996. After going on a gluten-free diet for three months the liver enzymes were back in normal range. Another lab that had gotten out of whack that has not returned to normal is albumin/total protein which are always a little on the low side. I don't know what that's about, if it's related to the liver or something else like leaky gut syndrome. But my doctors don't seem to be worried about it. One thing to realize is that celiac disease can onset at any stage of life. There is a genetic component but there is also an epigenetic component. That is, the genetic component is not deterministic. It only provides the potential. There needs also to be some health or environmental stressor to activate the latent gene potential. About 40% of the population have the genetic potential to develop celiac disease but only about 1% actually do.

Hello @Heather Hill You are most welcome.  As a longstanding member and now mod of the forum, I am ashamed to say I find numbers and figures very confusing, so I rarely stray into the realms of explaining markers. (I've self-diagnosed myself with dyscalculia!)  So I will leave that to @Scott Adams or another person. However as a British person myself I quite understand that the process with the NHS can take rather a long time.  But just as you made a concerted effort to eat gluten before your blood test, I'd advise doing the same with eating gluten before a biopsy, in order to show if you are reacting to gluten.  It might be worth contacting the hospital or your GPs secretary to find out if they know what the current waiting time is. Here is a page from Coeliac UK about the current NHS recommendations. https://www.coeliac.org.uk/information-and-support/coeliac-disease/getting-diagnosed/blood-tests-and-biospy/#:~:text=If you remove or reduce, least six weeks before testing. Thanks again. My mom was diagnosed over 50 years ago with celiac so grew up watching her deal with the challenges of food. I have been tested a few times prior due to this but these results have me a bit stunned. I have a liver disease that has advanced rapidly with no symptoms and an allergy that could be a contributing factor that had no symptoms. I guess I’ll call it lucky my Dr ordered a rescreen of a liver ultrasound from 5 years ago that triggered this or I would likely have tripped into cirrhosis. It’s all pretty jarring.
