What are barge poles used for? Phunny, but I seem to recall Mr. Chow telling me that as a young man he worked for a time on a huge freighter/barge that travelled between Hong Kong and Vancouver........

So, today is bit of an anniversary for us. It was eight years ago today that we took over our original store. We were there for almost six years, before moving to our current location in September, 2006.

When you were telling Bev that you have an excellent product for urine stains, I realized that you also have an excellent product for Mr. Chow's significant tooth decay issues (so bad that he's lost teeth) - -those fabulous all-angle doggy toothbrushes. . . ..I shall mention these to him . . . .. :rolleyes:

I'm subseqently developing a ritual of focusing on a page (can you say ooooohhhhhmmmmmm?), which requires me to go back, and go back, and time loses all meaning. Am supposed to like, sit a certain way? or perhaps there are ritualistic phrases that need to be said? Kow Tow (cow toe?) and bump my forhead on the ground?

Peter . . . Lovely new av . . . What does Becky weigh in at??? She looks like quite a armload . . . but is it all hair???
At last weighing, Becky was 17 pounds. The dear girl really should lose about ten percent. She is long-haired, and there is a lot of it, but there is a big cat under it all. We are trying to get her to lose, but it is not working very well. She is down from a peak of 18 pounds a year ago.

You can see Becky a bit better in this picture, which is an outtake. The first attempt at the photo had Jacquie holding Becky and me holding Caramel, but Caramel wasn't cooperating, and she had wriggled out of my grip a fraction of a second before the photo was taken. :o You can just see her right ear and part of her head at the bottom of the picture as she drops to the floor.

For the second year running, we have been voted 2008's "Best Pet Supply in North Toronto" by the readers of the North Toronto Post. The editor of the franchiser's internal magazine asked for the photo so she can include it with an item about us in the first 2009 edition. We're pretty happy about that! :)

Oh, Bev, so sorry about your pants. We have a great product here in the store that works very well on urine stains. :lol:

Congrats Pieter- love the pics- all three of your girls are beauties :D

Thanks for the offer but i already used Nature's Miracle on me pants. No stain, no smell :lol: <SNACKLE>

She's big - - but not as big as your gentle giant.... .Oliver, isn't it? He's over twenty pounds, I'm sure you've said, and six feet long, er sumfin.... :rolleyes: . .. ..didn't you tell me that his face is on a commercial cat food package, or kitty litter?

For your sanity, tis better if you just go with the flow and stick to the here and now.       Has any doctor suggested taking a round of Dapsone?  If you have dermatitis herpetiformis, dapsone will clear it fairly quickly.  It is not a drug you would want to take forever, but when all else failed my doc had me take it as a way to determine if it was dermatitis herpetiformis.  Sure enough it worked like a miracle and itch stopped and after 2 months the rash cleared.  Then I embarked on figuring out how to eat to avoid the breakouts.  It is my understanding that once you expose to gluten, the reaction happens and antibodies are deposited in your skin.  They can blister right away or hang around for a long time and get "activated" by other things like your monthlies, pressure, stress etc.... It makes it difficult to diagnose and difficult to manage.

      I use an app called Spoonful where you can scan labels and it will tell you whether it is safe, questionable (and why) and also something you can substitute.  It also makes it easier to see what is on the label.  There are some ingredients that I avoid in addition to gluten. You can also search the app by a category.  I just searched on "cosmetics and a few things popped up as compliant.  I think the app is mainly focused on food.  When I first started out reading labels was a nightmare and it took me so much time at the store.  This app has really helped me when I am looking at something new.  They update frequently, and if something isn't in their data base there is an AI function where you can enter the information from the label and it will analyze it right away for you. I have used an app called Find Me Gluten Free in the past when I am traveling to find restaurants.  People's reviews are very helpful because even when a restaurant claims to be able to accommodate, often people will find out differently and they report it on reviews. Hope this helps.
