SILLIES!!!!!! Happy Saturday-Before-Christmas!!!!!!!!

Em - so glad to hear yer dad's better - -

I took it back - it was the last one they had - they offered me a 10% discount to keep it . . . . . . riigggghhhhhttttt . . . dropped on it's motor . . . I'm sure it's fine . . . :majorsacasm:

 Yeah, NOOOOOOOO I don't think so

Just a quick fly-by to say that it is snowing big time here in Toronto, with about 8 inches expected in all. It started after the morning commute, but has been coming down steadily since. It looks like there is at least 6 inches so far. The parking lot has been shoveled three times, and needs it again.

We've gotten about two inches of barph, with another couple of centimetres due overnight. The big dump is coming Sunday. . . . .. perhaps a foot.

We're having yet another day of gray drizzle.....so sick of it

I'm officially snowed in. The road in front of my house got a light dusting of sand this morning that did nothing to decrease the slipperiness.

 feeling almost guilty that it's crystal-clear and cold sun today here, pholks....come on out!!!!!! shampooing the FETID  beyond-resurrection carpets today......BAH!!!!!! Because peeps are coming to stay next week, I HAVE to do it and....it will STILL look awful!!!! (but smell better) ohhhhh the terrible ennui..........what am I gonna do with my Dingo Thoughts during this time?????? Can't drink heavily - need to be clear-headed for some things

Yes,,,,,,,,,,,well Em this is very BIG NEWS INDEED........................

WE BETTER MAKE sure everyone sees this Em.

SINUSES IN OUR ANAL CANAL WE'LL NEVER FORGET THIS ONE ................

JUDITH!!!!

No, we're not going to recover quickly from this one, fo' shizzle  WHO KNEW? 'tis brilliant fodder for us................... *snort*

but then - makes me wonder - are pharts just....sneezes?

OOOOOOOO!!!

DingoGirl Enthusiast

Patti had a SNACKLE-SNORT!!!!!!!!

sillies - I have a giant pork shoulder BUTT - shall I try this in the crockpot, instead of the slow/lowtemp oven roast from last time (with that INFERIOR cut of meat)?????

well, must scoop frozen poop off ground (weezee's, not mine) and then mow lawn and spray weeds and such.......grocery store, errands, make more marshmallows, assemble gift bags, paint cards, walk the Weezle, get car washed (Weez told me she was embarrassed to be seen in it), MAD CLEANING, possible carpet shampoo but am debating that, it may have to stay filthy since I am taking care of neighbor's dog for two weeks, does it even make SENSE to wash the disgusting carpets now????? my visitors may just have to live with dirty carpets.... *gasp*

TOO MUCH TO DO TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow! Soooozie's got a busy day ahead .. . . .. . ...1

Yes! I do believe that pharts could be thought of much like sneezes, now with this new anatomical information that we have. . . . . ..

Bet more than a phew on there needed new underwear........

:o:lol:

You bet. I am certain that I would. . .. . . .

Okay, a pork butt roast .. .. . ...dunno if I have ever really liked ANY pork cuts in the crock, as they contain a fair amount of fat (even the leaner cuts). I have found pork done this way is just too fatty, and it adds SO much fat to the stuff underneath . ... . .if you wrap it in foil, the fat won't fill the pot, but then it sits in next to the meat and. . .. I dunno....kinda blechy. . . . . . . <_<

Pupper is a whopping 33 lbs, is about 4.5 months old, and still sweet as can be. Finally learned not to be terrified of the stairs. Still likes flip flops, expensive boots, and high heels (to chew, not to wear.) Loves peanut butter, cream cheese, and thinks that her treat of getting up on the bed (for naps) is wonderful. However, she is a bit (understatement of the year) rowdy in public - training classes will begin soon. Luckily, she's not "bad" - no biting, etc., just gets so excited and can't calm down. She just loves people and other dogs so much she can hardly stand it!

Survived the panicked shoppers at the grocery store. It's really funny to see what people buy in anticipation of being snowed in (she says with a cart full of chips and gluten-free cookies). I saw one guy getting blocks of ice and I'm thinking "Dude, it's like, 20 degrees outside. What are you gonna do with ice??"

The junk food aisle was almost blocked with all the extra pop they brought in for the masses. Chatted with the delivery guy while trying to scale "Pepsi Peak" to get out and he said people always buy tons of it in bad weather. And he thought that was just fine :D

I got stuff to make all the candies I listed (anyone need a care package?) and Jules, honey, I got no need to rent any musicals. (Should I buy dreamgirls d'ya think?)

I haven't seen Mama Mia. Let me know if I need to get a copy next time I'm at Costco.

Love the sports talk. I can't even figure out how you tell who's in charge of the ball.:unsure: .

Her excitement  yeah....that takes a while, and lots of training ;)

She DOES look deceptively calm and mature in her photo

Stinker's evil favorite game was, while we were leaving anywhere and getting in the car, to run, run, RUN away from me......then stop and stare with the most DEVILISH look on her face, poised to run again......I tried many approaches and methods to get her into the car, but off she would go - it was such a fun game for her :angry: Sometimes taking me as long as 30 minutes to get her in the car, and not kill her  And oh, this went on until she was almost...two

Weeze and the Christmas tree  I swear that dog knows just how to mug fer the camera :D

Pork BUTT--my crock pot policy is to remove all phat from any meat--including poultry when crock-potting. It's the phat that helps keep the meat tender in the oven, but in a crock pot, you don't need to worry bout that. It's true, as Em said, that any juices you get will be incorporated into the veggies. I've had good luck just removing all the outside fat.

but please go look at my latest reply in Mr. Moore's mini-bio thread......thought you might enjoy reading how I tortured my poor art teacher :ph34r:

Off to read this......

As for time element, a pressure cooker might be another option. You can make crockpot meals in a fraction of the time. Just a thought.

I've never used a pressure cooker, but my MIL makes some pretty succulent things in there--and in record time

She just loves people and other dogs so much she can hardly stand it!

What a little patootie :D

(anyone need a care package?)

Yes.

I haven’t had any noticeable reactions to salt so I will continue using it. I think I just freaked out when I realized this but it doesn’t cause me any discomfort- so thanks!
    • plumbago
Ok, thanks. I'm so glad to hear you are in the hands of a dermatologist. I hope he/she has given you 1) a diagnosis; and 2) a plan of care with a couple of options so that you have buy-in and comfort with it. I have some ideas, but not having seen the abscesses or you in person, it doesn't really make sense for me to kind of ... speculate further. But your question was regarding gluten, and you've gotten a couple of other follow up questions and answers that are good, including the idea to keep a food diary. Let us know if we can help further or answer any other questions. I'm sorry you're going through this, it sounds very painful.
    • LookingForAnswers101
@plumbago They appear as boils. They are big, like the size of a nickel--quarter, and they hurt when I touch them. I have gone to the same derm for them over and over and she thinks my body is colonized by a bacteria, but even after using hibiclens all over my body they come back.
    • Scott Adams
Welcome to the gluten-free community! It’s great to have you here. While gluten sensitivity or celiac disease can indeed cause skin issues, such as dermatitis herpetiformis (a blistering rash), abscesses in areas like the lower buttocks or thighs are less commonly linked directly to gluten. However, chronic abscesses could be a sign of an underlying immune or inflammatory condition, which might be worth discussing with a healthcare professional. Some people with gluten-related disorders also experience secondary issues like bacterial overgrowth or immune dysregulation, which could potentially contribute to recurrent infections. It’s always a good idea to explore all possible causes, including gluten sensitivity, with your doctor. In the meantime, keeping a food and symptom diary might help identify any patterns. Wishing you the best on your health journey!

You say you have gluten sensitivity? Have you been officially diagnosed with celiac disease or do you refer to NCGS?
