Isagenix Weight Management Program

Wow, I can't believe it has been since November since I have checked in here to post my progress. Now, of course I've been on the board, but not on this topic...

Well I am doing fantastic! I have lost 31lbs. since I started the Isagenix program 3 1/2 months ago. I am wearing a size 8 jeans! I haven't worn normal jeans in so long. and I can fit into medium shirts! My chest is still fairly large so I can't even try a small until that gets smaller, but I feel so good now. Two weeks ago we warmed up our hot tub and I couldn't believe how loose my swimsuit was. I still have to wait a few months before they will start stocking the stores with new suits. Good thing I bought a smaller one last year in hopes I would fit it. I just didn't feel like digging it out that night and it really isn't a style I would wear in public, but is fine for just the family. If I have company over to go in the hot tub I will have to wear one of my too-big suits! I did that at Thanksgiving in San Diego. I had to tie the straps up so the suit didn't fall off. But seriously I didn't mind. It feels good being smaller.

I only have 11 more pounds to go until I get to my goal weight of 130. My ultimate dream is of course to be back at 120. That is how much I weighed at 21 when I got married! I looked really good then. I was thin, but not scrawny. I looked good and fit size 6 in jeans and dresses. Man I could even fit into my wedding dress again!

Everyone who sees me tells me how great I am looking. Then of course they all ask me how I am doing it. Most aren't willing to put the effort into it. Most people want it easy, and trust me it is a lot of work, but this is the easiest it has ever been. The fat is just melting off, all I have to do is be faithful to following the program and not giving in when I really just want to pig out. Well sometimes I do give in a little, but then I get right back into it. Everybody has got to "cheat" a little bit on a diet. I mean it isn't like we can safely cheat with gluten, so if I want to have a couple extra cookies or a carmel apple, then I do. I just watch what I eat the next day and so far it has been fiine.

Man I had quite a few days over the holidays where I didn't follow my diet very well at all. I still took my supplements and I logged down everything I ate, but I was having stuff like cookies (lots of them and one night all I had for dinner was pretty mcuh a ton of cookie dough will I was baking!), cheesecake filling (Kraft sells the premade filling without a crust and that is great straight from the container, but not diet worthy!), even some red wine (good stuff, but just calories!). I didn't lose over the holidays. But I maintained my weight of 145. By January 2nd I was back on the diet and have lost 4 pounds since then.

Also I got glutened before the holidays and have spent the time sicne December 16th with a DH rash that is finally almost gone. But I have lost a ton of hair (I always do when I get glutened) and I still have a sensitive stomach. I think I need to add some digestive enzymes to each meal. I always have a hard time digesting protein after getting glutened and my diet is fairly high in protein (but it is NOT low-carb).

Well thanks for listening to my rant. I am 100% sold on this detox thing though. No one will be able to convince me it doesn't work. I would be careful what products you buy though. Not all detox systems are the same. And not all are gluten free as well.

I am glad this plan is working so well for you! I keep looking at it and thinking about it, but I'm not sure I'm really ready to get serious about losing weight. I don't stick to any program long enough to see if it will work for me.

gf4life Enthusiast

Yeah, I can see where you are coming from Dessa. If you don't think you will stick with it, then it isn't worth spending the money to try it out. I was commited to 30 days, and then I would see after that, but it took me a while to make that first commitment. I refused to give up during that first 30 days.

If you do decide to get serious about losing weight, certainly check into the Isagenix plan. It is awesome! They have a 9 day starter plan and a 30 day plan. Maybe you could start with the 9 day and see how you like it...

Just posting my results of the last few weeks.

I have now lost 35 pounds!! I weight 137 and according to the Isagenix BMI calculations and weight status chart I am no longer considered "overweight". I am at the high end of "normal" at 24.9 BMI and still have a bit mor to lose to look my best, but I feel so good! I look great and am still losing.

I have a goal to reach 130 by March 9th (my 35th B-day) and if I make my goal Iplan to reward myself with a gluten-free angelfood cake. I think I can do it. It might help if I try to get a bit more exercise, as I lose about 1-2 pounds a week just doing my normal everyday stuff (like chores, errands, kids activities, church activities, etc.). I eventually plan to get down to 120.

All totaled I have lost over 49 inches off of my body. 7 inches off my abdomen, another 7 off my chest, 3.5 off of my rib cage area, 4 off my hips/behind, and 6.5 off my waist (belly button area). The rest is off my arms, legs, thighs etc. I think earlier on I told you guys all the places I measure myself to get the calculations. I am so excited. And so many people are asking me about Isagenix that I finally broke down and ordered a pack of brochures with my last order so that I can give them to people instead of trying to explain it to them. I repeat myself so many times over... ;) Almost like how I have to repeat myself to people about the gluten-free diet!

And this is funny, even my prescription sunglasses don't fit right anymore because my face is thinner! I need to take them in to have them adjusted and I keep forgetting to do it. The only time I ever think about it is when the eye doctor's are closed! So I still wear them, but they slip off too easily. I didn't really notice the difference in my face, but others have noticed. And when I look at the photo of me from Christmas 2005 that is in my profile here I can see a big difference. I am working on getting a new photo to put up, so you guys can see what I look like now.

Good job on the weight loss. Your plan however is way too expensive and impractical. I want real food not shakes.

Good job on the weight loss. Your plan however is way too expensive and impractical. I want real food not shakes.

Thank you. I am very happy with my success. I do eat real food though. For lunch, snack and dinner. I only have a shake at breakfast, which is better than no breakfast. I used to skip breakfast because I am not really hungry when I get up and mornings around my house are nuts. I would find that I wouldn't eat until around 10 or 11 am and by then it is really lunch. Then I would eat lunch when the kids got home from school and wouldn't be hungry at dinner. I would end up hungry at bedtime, but knew that I shouldn't eat too much before bed. It wasn't good. I was all messed up. Now I am able to have lunch at noon and snack after school and dinner around 6pm.

I don't think it costs too much, I spend about $60 a month for the supplements I take. But I do buy wholesale, not retail, at about a 30% discount. There are a lot more supplements they sell that I could take, but choose not to. I only take the cleansing drink twice a month, and the natural accelerator, the morning liquid drink and the nightime fiber supplements I take daily. I don't even use the Isagenix shake because it has dairy. I use Jay Robb's egg white protein shake mixed with almond milk.

I agree though that it is not a plan for everyone, but all diets/weight management programs are like that. There is no plan that is one-size-fits-all, but this plan certainly works for me and a lot of others. I tried a lot of other plans in the past 13 years and NONE of them worked for me like this one does. And this is one that I can stick with in the long term, because it focuses more on changing your eating habits and cutting out all the junk. I probably save at least $60 a month from not buying all the processed foods and junk foods! I really haven't noticed that much of a change in my food budget.

gf4life Enthusiast

Okay, I did some calculations and I was wrong. I spend about $80 a month, not $60. I still don't think that costs too much. I feel great, and look great. I spent more at the beginnning, when I was doing a cleanse day once a week, but still only about $30 more. Other people I know spend more than that on fitness center membership fees, and other diet supplements, so to me it isn't expensive. I also am no longer spending money on headache medicines and sleep aid pills. So like I said, I haven't noticed a difference in my budget.

I also feel like I eat more "real" food now than I did before. I would grab whatever was handy, now I think through my meals and plan ahead and try to eat the healthiest option. That is what a healthy lifestyle is and that is what is going to keep me thin for the long term.

The most expensive part about this whole weight loss venture is that I have to buy all new clothes! :o:lol: But seriously, is that really a problem...

Okay, I am really bummed here. I went online to order some more Jay Robb Egg White Protien powder yesterday, an I usually get the chocolate. Well I usually order from Lame Advertisement when my husband is ordering his supplements, but this time I went directly to the Jay Robb site. When I got to the page with the chocolate protien powder, I found out that they have a new "improved" chocolate egg protien. Well it is still gluten free, but it now contains stevia and I can't have that. So I had to go in search of a new egg protein. :(

I settled on a plain, 100% pure egg whites with nothing added and I will add my own flavoring. Why do companies have to mess with a good thing? The only thing I can figure is that people requested they add swettener to the egg shakes. The thing I loved about the chocolate one was there was no sweetener in it and so it didn't add sugar to my shake (I get enough in the almond milk) and I hate super sweet shakes anyhow...

I made it to 130 (barely) by my birthday last Friday. I did eat that angel food cake! Half of it! My kids ate the other half! I have since lost another 2 pounds. I am now 128 and I can't believe it! Everybody around me keeps asking me what I am doing to lose all the weight. I am glad I am doing it now, but I wish I had found Isagenix years ago.

My husband calls me a walking advertisement. I've lost 44 pounds!

The other day I found my "before" photos of me at 180 (my highest non-pregnant weight) and beneath the stack of photos was $200! I remember that I put it there a few years ago for me to buy clothes with when I lost weight. I had forgotten all about it. Well I have already spent other money on clothes, so I am adding that to our Disneyland spending cash when we go in a few weeks. I can't believe how fat I look in the photos. I plan to put my before and after photos up online.

Wow! I totally congratulate you on your weight loss success! I have lost 40 pounds since January, using the 9 day version. Although I didn't start using Isagenix as a diet plan. My girlfriend bought two 9 day programs and wanted me to "cleanse" with her. Well, I started losing weight like crazy, my pants were literally just falling off me! I'm cleansing again today so I wanted to make some comments about my headaches. Usually, if I feel one coming on, I start drinking water. If it's too late then I drink a LOT of water!

I have been using the products consistently over the past few months and I agree with you that it's not for everyone. When I do a 9 day cleanse it takes discipline. I am going to get my aunt started on the 30 day program next week. As far as the cost goes, I mean, how much is your health worth? Isagenix wasn't designed to cleanse impurities and restore the body. The weight loss is just a side effect. I eat plenty of real food, but like you said, it doesn't go to soda, coffee (once in a while) and snacks. I just replaced the large amounts of junk I was eating with smaller, nutrient rich meals.

When I make the cleanse drinks, I add 4 ice cubes, an ounce of Ionix Supreme and a spoonfull of the "Want More Energy" powder in a blender. It tastes much better. For the shakes I either add real fruit or a scoop of the Isafruits.

Here is a link to a short movie that aired on FOX in March. It is about Isagenix and it was on "Health Journal Television".

Hi Adam, and thanks. I am down 44 pounds now and am happy to be maintaining 128! I haven't been in my 120's since before I had my first child 13 years ago!

How are the IsaFruits? I haven't tried it because I am already pushing it with the Ionix Supreme in regards to stevia. I have a bad reaction to it if I get too much. The 1 oz. of Ionix Supreme doesn't bother me if I dilute it a lot and drink it slowly. I am just worried that if I add more products with stevia into my diet then I will have a reaction...

Also I am not brave enough to do the 9 day program. The thought of 2 full days of cleansing is just more than I can handle and then it is only 5 days before the next 2 days! I like the once a week. Works better for me for the long term. A friend of mine told me that her mom and dad tried it and her dad started to feel sick by the second day and wouldn't do it again. I told her to have them try the 30 day program. It is easier for the body to handle. I would hate for someone to miss the wonderful benefits of the program only because they couldn't tolerate the rigid program of the 9 days plan. The 30 day program is wonderful.

Also I assume you meant that Isagenix WAS designed to designed to cleanse impurities and restore the body, not wasn't...

I suffered from frequent (daily) headaches and migraines. Within a few days of my first cleanse my headaches were lessened, and by the end of the first month they were gone completely. I have only had 2 migraines since last September and my neurologist doesn't even want to see me again unless they come back! Although she was interested in the Isagenix program since it now seems my headaches were a side effect of the toxins. I was so willing to keep doing the program even if I didn't lose weight, just to keep the headaches away, but then the weight started coming off too. It is absolutely wonderful.

Just noticed you are from Santa Cruz. I assume this is Santa Cruz, CA. I was born and raised there! I still miss the ocean. I lived 2 blocks from the beach and could hear the waves from my bedroom window. It was lovely to listen to as I was falling asleep on a cool summer evening... :D

Hi I am posting this here in defense of myself...It has been suggested by another member that I am on here "recruiting" other members for a multi-level-marketing business. This is incorrect and if I was promoting my own business it would be a direct violation of the board rules, that as a moderator I am required to enforce!

I do admit that Isagenix is set up as a program similar to Avon or MaryKay, where you can be a distributor and sell the products at retail for a profit or sign up new distributors and make a commission. I am signed up as a distributor, but only to purchase wholesale (30-40% discount!). But I am NOT trying to sell anyone anything. I have not included any of my personal information anyone would need to purchase from ME. If anyone is interested in the products I have only included a link to the Gluten Solutions website (where I originally purchased my products) as they are a reputable store and I buy gluten free foods from them often. I do not stand to benefit one cent from any person trying these products. I am only a very satisfied customer who has had great success using these products.

I have lost a total of 46 pounds since October 1st 2006! I have lost over 55 inches off my body and look and feel great. I am working on getting before and after photos posted of me soon. It is awesome. I am down to 126 pounds, and only have 6 more to go until I am at the same weight I was when I got married 14 years (and 3 children) ago!

Hi, this is in response to your April 7th post. Somehow I didn't get email notification until today. Yes, I do live in SC, CA. Actually, Scotts Valley. It is more in the mountain area than close to the beach.

The Isafruits make it taste like a strawberry shake, but I found out an interesting little trick the other day. If you cut fresh strawberries into small pieces and then freeze them. Then when you go to make your protein shake of choice, first put the water and the strawberries in a blender and you get this frozen strawberry water. Then add the protien powder and it comes out like a really thick milkshake! I found this out by accident because I bought so many strawberries they were going to spoil if I didn't freeze them. I was putting these giant frozen strawberries in the blender and it was a learning experience.

I weighed in today at 200 lbs., which is 38 down from where I was in January.

And yes, I did mean that Isagenix was designed to cleanse impurities from the body. Have a nice day!

gf4life Enthusiast

I know exactly where Scotts Valley is, been there thousands of times! My grandparents used to live in Ben Lomond and my husband lived in Scotts Valley for a while before we were married.

I actually envy the fact that you can get fresh strawberries and buy so many that they might go bad if you don't freeze them. I used to live in Watsonville and the big flats of strawberries are so easy to just stop off the side of the road and buy fresh from the fields! Whenever I find the big flats on sale around here in the summer I buy a couple and freeze the berries. I agree with cutting up the big ones though! They sure take a long time to blend if they are too big. ;)

I do use frozen berries fairly often in shakes. Sometimes frozen is the only way I can get them. <_< I went ahead and got some IsaFruits with my last order, but I haven't tried it yet. I thought I might alternate between the IsaFruits and the Ionix Supreme in the morning. I don't think I can do both, since they both contain stevia and too much stevia gives me a killer headache!

Guest Adam J Velez

Go ahead and alternate between the two. I think that would be the best idea.

I often take classes in San Francisco. I'm there right now by the way. Being in the big city is an interesting experience but I'm always so glad to get home and grateful that I don't live in San Francisco. We have a creek that runs in front of our house and tons of redwood trees. Plus the strawberries!

Gotta go turn in my assignment, talk to you later.

Mariann--

Congratulations on your weight loss. :D

What did you find the easiest about it?

I love the taste of the shakes. :P

I used the 30 day program as well and lost 14 lbs in those 30 days.

I started at 146 lbs and my goal weight was 130 lbs, and I missed my goal weight

by 2 lbs... but I was very happy with the results.

Also lost 15 3/4" inches with 5 of them coming of my waist ! :D

Take care

LetTheGlutenGo Newbie

gf4life,

it's been almost 4.5 years since you started this topic. How did your quest for weight loss and health go with the Isagenix products? I just found out last November that I am gluten-intolerant, and it's been rotting my brain and joints for some time. I'm one of those people who suddenly triggered recessive genes while dealing with a serious illness. So, now I'm stuck with it -- these changes tend to be permanent, from what I can find out, and I am feeling much better. So, gluten free I shall be!

I lost most of my weight by going macrobiotic first, and then stopping wheat because it simply was not agreeing with me. Figuring out the last few steps was more subtle. So I'm not interested in the Isagenix for weight loss, exactly. I don't need to lose weight -- I need a cellular cleanse that won't kick the medications right out of my body, nor damage any major organs from cleanse shock. I need to get the cells all talking again and storing energy, so I can exercise. So, the Cleanse for Life interested me.

I know the Kosher Lean shake is gluten-free, but so far that's the only product that states it.

If you're still visiting the board, could you give me an update, and your opinion on the products?

LetTheGlutenGo Newbie

gf4life/Mariann,

Congrats on your great weight loss! And even more important, your new energy and diving back into your life, I'm very happy for you!

Now that I've figured out how to use the board, I see that you did post which products were/are gluten-free, for which I thank you. Sounds like I can try the 9 day cleanse, which is what I can afford, and see how it works. I'm a little dairy sensitive, so I may need to eventually go to an egg shake in the AM, as you did. But it's the cleanse I'm interested in.

I know how feeling lousy is, from Lyme disease, so I'm not really afraid of the 9 day cleanse.

But still -- It's been four years. Have you stuck with it? Is it still working for you as a lifestyle?

Thanks for your story!

First, welcome to the forum, @boy-wonder! Second, a little clarification in terminology is in order. Granted, inconsistency is rampant when it comes to the terminology associated with gluten disorders, but it has more or less become settled in this fashion: "Gluten intolerance" is a general term that car refer to either celiac disease or NCGS (Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity). "Gluten Sensitivity" is the shortened version of NCGS. Third, Celiac disease is not an allergy to gluten. It is an autoimmune disorder characterized by gluten ingestion causing the immunes system to attack the lining of the small bowel, causing damage to it over time due to the constant inflammation that wears down the "villi" (mucosal finger-like projections that make up the lining). Over a significant period of time as gluten continues to be consumed, this generally results in impaired nutrient absorption. There are specific blood antibody tests available to check for celiac disease but the testing will not be valid while on a reduced gluten diet or a gluten free diet. Those already having having begun a gluten free diet must go back to consuming generous amounts of gluten for a period of weeks if they wish to pursue testing for celiac disease. Fourth, NCGS shares many of the same symptoms of celiac disease but does not damage the lining of the small bowel as does celiac disease. There is no test for it. A diagnosis for NCGS depends on first ruling out celiac disease. It is 10x more common than celiac disease. Some experts feel it can be a precursor to the development of celiac disease. Eliminating gluten from your life is the antidote for both. Fifth, you state that you are convince you don't have celiac disease by are just "gluten intolerant" (aka, gluten sensitive). How do you know that? It seems to me you are making a dangerous assumption here. I suggest you consider getting formally tested for celiac disease.

Has anyone found a gluten free parakeet seed mix? I can't find a single one! My doctor wants me to make sure all pet food in the house is gluten free but I'm not sure if that's even possible with parakeets. We love our birds so much! I'm wondering if anyone has ever made their own bird seed mix if gluten free ones are not available.

Hi, new member. About me, I had been suffering with weight gain, bloating and irregular and extreme bowel habits for a year or so. For example, I went on holiday in 2023, then again I  2024 at the same time of year and every shirt I wore in 2023 didn't fit anymore, couldn't even do the buttons up. Being in my mid 50s I put it down to age and middle aged spread. I'd been lucky all my life having good metabolism and being able to eat anything and as much as I like without putting on any weight, it drove my other half mad. Over a conversation with a friend health and age Related stuff came up and he mentioned someone he knew who had recently found out they were gluten intolerant,  I looked it up and had every one of 8 or so symptoms listed. Bloating,  weight gain,  headaches, brain fog,  constipation, etc etc. I took the decision to give going gluten free a try. Within 1 week I had lost 4 lb, now 7 weeks in I've lost 13 lb. I feel much better in general,  the bloating has severely subsided, it used to keep me awake at night as I felt so uncomfortable.  So pretty much a success story, as everyone here knows,  going gluten free isn't always easy, and eating out can be awkward,  but I consider myself lucky that I appear to have an intolerance rather than an allergy or being celiac.  I can deal with most of the gluten free options at the supermarket but, the big one for me is bread, I love bread, and the gluten free options I've tried are pretty poor. I was at a posh black tie event last night and chose all the food options I thought would be gluten free,  however,  there was bread on the table and I couldn't resist it, I had I small piece of bread,  god it was good, I wanted more but I resisted. Today I feel a bit dodgy, my stomach is churning, and I generally feel a bit urgh.  So here's the question, is that really down to 1 small piece of bread or is it coincidence?  I'd be interested in hearing how other people have reacted to a similar situation,  as I was considering having a day off every now and then and enjoying some lovely fresh bread.

Does anybody know of a guide that ranks reevaluates universities and colleges in terms of their accommodation of celiac disease or food allergies?   Thanks in advance for any leads! Valerie

thank you, i have been doing that the last few weeks and will continue to do so. I had not had my ttg iga checked since I was diagnosed 14 yrs ago so I am not sure if they ever dropped below the 15-20 range.    all my other labs are completely normal but I am concerned that this may be signs of refractor celiac or something else since I'm so careful with gluten-free diet
