well actually a lot, like m&ms (except crispy kind), skittles, snickers, three muskateers, butterfingers, almond joys, reeses pieces, reeses peanut butter cups, *midnight* milky ways only not regular, hersheys chocolate, tootsied rolls, smarties, rolos, most gummy candies like gummy worms, bears, orange slices, jelly beans, spice drops are gluten free but just read the labels. brachs candies are not safe even if they appear to be. kisses and hugs, dum dums, charms, tootsie pops, dubble bubble, hard candies are usually safe like buttersotches, and fruit discs but just read the labels. starburst, jolly ranchers, junior mints, sugar daddies and babies, yah just read the labels and there are still a ton of other stuff out there that is gluten free. hope this helps lol. if you need to know anyothers just ask i could probably tell. also welcome to the board.

thanks...what about reses fast breaks??

thanks...what about reses fast breaks??

Def. Not, they are made with wafers so those are not okay.

Sorry! :(

Kassie Apprentice

actually i'm pretty sure reese's fast breaks are safe, they don't have wafers. its the reese's sticks that have wafers and aren't safe. i just read the ingredients on the fast break and it looked ok. :)

does anyone know a good brand of candy corn for this season? just some that could be picked up at target or something like that. Thanks

Guest nini

Blueberry Hill Candy Corn is gluten-free. I found it at Dollar Tree. I confirmed with the company that ALL their products are gluten-free. Also, the guy that I spoke with said that he had spent weeks confirming with all their vendors that all the igredients were indeed gluten-free.

Wal-Mart brand candy corn is gluten-free. [i do want to say that I didn't call and ask, though. The ingredients were all gluten-free and I didn't get sick from them, but you may want to call aout CC].

• Wonka: check label. Gluten will be listed as wheat, rye, barley or oats Wonka Statement: Thank you for contacting us. Your comments regarding Nestlé & Wonka® Products are very important to us. In regards to your inquiry, there are eight major food allergens, including milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts (such as walnuts and almonds), soy, wheat, fish and shellfish. Labeling regulation requires that all ingredients added to products be listed in the ingredient statement. For these eight major allergens, Nestlé ensures that they are labeled, regardless of the amount or whether a supplier may have added it to their ingredient. It is the responsibility of Nestlé to ensure that these ingredients are properly labeled by their common or usual name in the ingredient statement. We want to help our consumers avoid inadvertent ingestion of their specific allergens of concern by accurately informing them about the product ingredients and by following Good Manufacturing Practices in our factories. All factories using a critical allergen as an ingredient must take all reasonable precautions to avoid cross-contact of products that do not normally contain these allergens and products that do not carry a specific mention in the ingredient statement. These precautionary measures include efficient cleaning of production lines and equipment And strict separation of materials that may contain critical allergens. If an allergen does not appear on the ingredient statement, then it has not been added to the product and the likelihood of cross-contamination contact is so extremely low that the risk is insignificant. We have also attached a copy of our gluten-free confection list. We hope you find it helpful. We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you and hope your inquiry was handled to your satisfaction. • NOT GLUTEN FREE Whoppers

• NOT GLUTEN FREE Willy Wonka Oompas

• NOT GLUTEN FREE Zachary Brand Candy Corn (In regards to the e-mail that we recently received regarding the use of the listed ingredients used in the manufacturing of Candy Corn I must explain that these types of candies are technically gluten free. However, we do in our facility have other items that do have ingredients that contain gluten ingredients and unfortunately we do not have the area in our manufacturing facility to segregate these items from one another. Therefore there is an opportunity for there to be cross contact with storage containers and manufacturing equipment that could potentially lead to these candy corn items having trace ingredients of gluten. So unfortunately I cannot guarantee one hundred percent that even though these candies do not contain any ingredients that contain gluten that this product had not come in contact with items and equipment that have. Obviously we are very sympathetic as food manufacturers with issues such as allergens and other intolerances. It is our desire to have as many people as possible to enjoy our candies and be able to eat them without fear of any health consequences. However as a small manufacturing facility we cannot go to the lengths and measures that larger companies can in regards to segregation of ingredients, washing of equipment between shifts or having a separate facility to manufacture only certain products containing problem ingredients and thereby eliminating cross contamination issues. I wish I had a more positive answer for your question but unfortunately in cases like this I would rather be sure than to indicate that there is nothing in the candies and have something happen that could jeopardize someone’s precious health.

Be sure to search our articles, we've covered some of these:     You can search this site for prescriptions medications, but will need to know the manufacturer/maker if there is more than one, especially if you use a generic version of the medication: To see the ingredients you will need to click on the correct version of the medication and maker in the results, then scroll down to "Ingredients and Appearance" and click it, and then look at "Inactive Ingredients," as any gluten ingredients would likely appear there, rather than in the Active Ingredients area. https://dailymed.nlm.nih.gov/dailymed/

Welcome to the forum, Brianne03! It is relatively easy, as you have discovered, to identify gluten-free products when considering only intentional ingredients but it can be much more difficult or impossible to get definitive answers about cross contamination. Does your daughter fall into the supersensitive category of celiacs? That is, does she have definite reactions to very small amounts of gluten exposure? If not, you might do well to just focus on listed ingredients and not worry too much about CC (cross contamination). In the things you list, gum and cough drops are probably the biggest concern. Most chewing gums have wheat starch in them. But some don't. My practice is to include the terms "gluten free" in my Amazon searches for those kinds of products. As to medications, this might be helpful but CC can not be ruled out with generic drugs:  http://www.glutenfreedrugs.com/list.htm

Our 17 year old daughter was recently diagnosed with Celiac and we haven't had any real education from her doctor yet; we are waiting for an upcoming appointment, so I've been trying to navigate and educate myself on my own. There are multiple products my daughter uses, such as medications, cough drops, chapstick, gum, etc. that do not contain gluten containing ingredients, but the manufacturers have not labeled the items gluten-free due to processing in a place that might pose a risk of cross contact or maybe not wanting to pay to test their products. How do we safely handle this? Is it a matter of comfortability or reaction?
