Thank you for the good idea. What exactly is a hyperlink, and how do you do it?

When you hit 'reply', you'll see a few icons above the edit window where you enter your response. There's the button for "bold", "italics", "underscore", "strikeout", "font color", and then "hyperlink". The macro for hyperlink pops up a user window, when you click on it, that asks you to enter the address, or URL, then the text you want to have that link.

So, for instance, if you wanted to put a link to google in your reply, you'd click that button, enter the url (I usually cut and paste from another window, but in this case it's simple: http://wwww.google.com) at the first prompt, then enter "google" in the second prompt. When you click "ok", it will enter the code for the hyperlink in your entry. (alternatively, you could enter this code yourself, when you get used to using it.)

in this case, of linking to your own post, you'd need to write the other post first, so you have a URL you can copy and link to, and then put it wherever you want to reference.

The video appears fine on my Firefox browser, but it's cropped on IE7 (microsoft really messed things up with this upgrade). I wrote a message to the webmaster to see if there's anything they can do about it.

Regarding Video Issues....

Ok, I can view the video fine. Nini can view it fine. Anyone else? And if anyone else is successful, what browser and version are you using? I use Firefox and know for a fact that Nini does, too. She and I viewed the video fine. I tried to open it in Internet Explorer to answer questions in a pm I was sent, and guess what....In IE I get the little talking mouth video, too

I've posted directions for downloading the free Firefox browser here.

We can continue discussion of video/browser issues there.

Haha! Gamecreature posted while I was composing this. Yep, he's right, but it's not just a problem with IE7, although that answers my question. I wondered if the problem continued in IE7. It does.

Celiac Central may be able to correct this. But I suspect they don't typically embed video, so they may or may not invest time in making it work. I hope they don't remove the links!

I am taking a web design course at my local community college, and my instructor told us last Wednesday that IE7 is terrible, and the college has told everybody that they're not allowed to download it, because it would mess up a lot of stuff. Just in the nick of time, because when I got home, there was my little upgrade icon (I will absolutely NOT enable automatic updates, they tell me what they've got, and I decide if I want it), telling me it wanted me to okay the download of IE7. Needless to say, I told them to not ask me again. Phew!

I am now going to watch the videos, as I haven't had time before (on Firefox, which is my default browser).

I wish I had seen this but my Mom said she saw some of it.

I just downloaded IE7 last week I think. :(

Any way to uninstall IE7? We installed it and I don't like it. I finally was able to listen to it and see the little 1" x 2" box.

It said in my little window that gave me the choice to download it, that you can uninstall it if you don't like it. Go to your control panel, click on the 'Add or remove programs' icon, find IE7, click on it, click on uninstall, and you should be able to get rid of it again.

I just watched both the videos, and was very impressed. Even though, yes, improvements could be made, all in all it was fantastic. It was done in a very positive, informative way. I really, really liked it.

Wow--I decided at the last second not to install the IE7 (I'm not computer savvy, and had no idea what I was doing) and just listened to the second broadcast.

Thanks, Ursula--I'll know for next time :)

Not to derail the thread, but here's some browser answers for you.

The rumor is that IE7 is designed the way it is to drum up support for the new Vista OS that's due out soon. While it certainly appears rushed (it ignores more than a few established web standards) I can't imagine how this would make anyone want to rush out and buy Vista.

There is a work-around available on the IE website that will let IE7 mimic IE6. Alas, it does not fix the issue with the video playback on the Celiaccentral site. Neither does downloading the latest version of Quicktime.

You can uninstall IE7 and go back to the earlier browser if you like. Instructions are available on the IE website. I'm probably going to switch over to Firefox - it has all of the bells and whistles of IE7, with fewer headaches. The only thing I'll miss is FTP support, but Microsoft made a mess of that in IE7 as well. I'll just use Network Neighborhood to access my FTP sites.

I'd be glad to, but I don't seem to be able to find the thread you're referring to. What forum is it in?

Sometimes celiacs can also have other things like lactose intolerance which is fairly common. Also research fodmap foods, it's quite complicated but there are some other foods which can cause digestive issues. For me it's too many onions and garlic.

You may be reacting to some of the ingredients used to imitate gluten products. I eat Amy's Chilli quite often with no problems. When I eat Bush's chilli beans or Hormel Chilli with the same ingredient list, I get heartburn.  Break out the alka seltzer.   Barillo spaghetti has CORN FLOUR, RICE FLOUR, MONO AND DIGLYCERIDES. Udi's White bread Ingredients - water, tapioca starch, brown rice flour, canola oil, dried egg whites, sugar, tapioca maltodextrin, tapioca syrup, sorghum flour, less than 2% of: rice starch, sorghum grain, flaxseed meal,  gum blend (xanthan gum, sodium alginate, guar gum), apple cider vinegar, apple fiber, molasses, salt, amaranth flour, teff flour, yeast, cultured brown rice, locust bean gum, enzymes Chobani Greek Yogurt Cultured nonfat milk, cane sugar, water, natural flavors, fruit pectin, guar gum, locust bean gum, vanilla extract, lemon juice concentrate.

My TTG was 167 one year ago. Recently had it retested one month ago and it went down to 16. I only recently had an endoscopy done as I was pregnant within the last year. I did not eat gluten prior to this endoscopy as I get very sick. Prior to obtaining the biopsies, the endoscopy said “ diffuse moderately erythematous mucosa to the second part of the duodenum without bleeding.” However, the biopsy came back negative. I assume it’s a false negative as I have also had genetic testing to confirm celiac. However, what would cause the inflammation to the second part of the duodenum and continued positive blood markers if the intestines have healed?

Thank you for direction.  Eating out is a concern though we rarely do, but I'm prepared now.
