The Dangers Of Elimination

You folks have helped so much, that the issues have changed.

Untreated celiac 25 years. gluten-free 7 years. For 6 of these things got worse, then I met you folks and connected with a specialist who now cannot answer my questions or refer me to anyone who can. The explaination I got was that stripped of the gluten barrier I became sensitive to other things.

Since, eliminating iodine elevieted daily vomiting. Nightshade elimination helped rashes and sweats

Low salicylate diet cleared congestion, cough, and flushing. I still deal with pain. I also still seem to be more reactive rather than less. Any advice is welcome!

I eat like I have cancer. Everything peeled. Notthing processed. I have tried to eliminate toxins as much as possible. Eliminated meds to compounded thyroid meds and a fentanyl patch for pain. A few days ago I got Maxalt for the increased frquency of migraines. I eliminated all grain and legumes recently. I had eliminated meat almost 3o years ago. I am eating full fat dairy. I am limiting salicylates as much as I can.

Basically I had hoped that from Jan to April I would try to be really strict to allow my system to heal. Perhaps my efforts are misguided. I need advice. I do not want to create more problems.

I have done my own research, consulted a homeopathic doctor, a gastro doc for advice. I have gotten some advice, but question some of it too.

My vitamin and mineral levels seem to be fine. I guess toxins are causing the pain. In a quest to eliminate them more efficently I am considering milk thistle extract for the liver. I thought about a alkaline diet but was warned it could invite bacteria resulting in candida. So I have settled on flushing the urinary track with water.

I have several types of pain. Hands and feet, radiating from the spine, migraines. I tried Maxalt 2 days ago to halt the migraine. It worked in a hour. My migraines last 3-6 days, I read most are 12 hours.

I switched to the fentanyl patch for the general pain, bypassing the stomach and binders. I am now having my thyroid meds compounded. The only other methods I use are heat and ice.

I know there are folks, ursula, mtndog and more who may have words of wisdom. I thought of writing them directly but hope my post will help me connect with them and others who can help me from making mistakes that could harm me.

I feel for these folks worried about dinner, now I fear that if I don't find answers in time I will have irreversable problems. On the verge of throwing ion the towel. I haven't felt that way in a few years. But everything I read looks so grim. I need some hope.

Budew, can you find a good naturopath? Bastyr University has an excellent reputation, maybe you can contact them to find someone in your area that can help you.

Sorry you have been through so much. At least you know that different foods were causing your problems. I had very bad liver headaches when I was eating gluten. I still get them when I get glutened, but that is the only time. If you think that toxins and your liver are your problem then I would recommend finding a chiropractor that can help make your liver dump. I didn't believe it in the beginning but I would go in with a headache and come out feeling great. They push around your abdominal area and it starts to gurgle and the headache goes away. Obviously, not all chiropractors do this. The doctor that I used to go to is Dr. Remeta (336) 774-9006, she may be able to tell you of a practitioner in your area that does the same thing.

As I'm sure you know there are liver cleanses that you can buy at the health food store. It is helpful to do a colon cleanse first if you haven't done that in a while. There are also many types of "vitamins" that you can take to help your liver.

I would think that you are still eating something bad if your liver is causing so many headaches. Also, your liver and kidneys work together and if you have any kidney problems it puts a strain on the liver and that could be an issue.

I have no idea if these ideas will help you and I learned to believe in alternative medicine because nothing else worked for me. At least it seems like you have gotten rid of some of your symptoms. Good luck.

Being dairy intolerant myself, I wonder if that's causing problems for you (it exacerbates my headaches).

I'm with you on the migraines - mine last for days (12 hours? ha!), and would occur far too often. Using a daily preventative has helped tremendously, but I don't know if it can be compounded.

Good luck.

Are you sure your vitamin levels are ok? Especially B vitamins? Eliminating meat makes me wonder about that. Do you get plenty of sunshine (vit. D)?

Have you ever given up dairy to see how that works for you?

please tell me more about ur pain. it really sounds likeb it could be CMP. have you looked into that?

why are you so certain that ur pain is related to food/nutrient/toxin intake? perhaps there is another cause? if you have been able to resolve all other issues thru modifying intake but not the pain...maybe it is not the intake at all.

how long have you hasd the pain? did it come on slow? or all of a sudden? does it stay the same or cycle up and down? what kind of pain is it....burning? itching? aching? shooting?

i am sorry i have posted u about this in so many places...apparently i started reading from the bottom up on ur posts. i am just really excited to help anyone that lives w debilitating pain.

I had the endoscopy with biopsy done. I have gastritis and duodenitis at this point. The biopsy should provide the cause of the inflammation findings. How common are these findings when Celiac is the ultimate culprit?

Welcome to the forum @cookiesyum, I lasted on staton for about a month before getting so weak I had to stop.   Switched to Nicotinic Acid and I posted the results in a previous post.  Instead of getting sicker and weaker on the statin I feel I am improving day by day.  Nicotinic Acid was first used for cholesterol in 1955.

According to research, consuming gluten can potentially trigger sudden mood swings and increased irritability in children, particularly those with gluten sensitivity or celiac disease, making them more likely to have tantrums or display behavioral issues; this is because gluten can trigger an immune response in the body, potentially impacting brain function and neurotransmitter levels.  When my son was diagnosed in 1976 when he was weaned his doctor told us that at 5 years old his kindergarden teacher would beg us to put him on Ritalin.  And so it did happen.  My son was on Ritalin though high school.  In the morning he was a devil who could not put on his socks. Half an hour after the morning dose he was an angel wanting to help mom get ready.  Talk about Jekyll and Hyde! Dr Danel Amen could be a good resource for you.

Yes, it certainly can! My daughter has a reaction from just playing with Playdough. She doesn't get GI symptoms at first, just psychological mostly. It can get really bad. It's like night/day behavior. My daughter is eight, but started showing signs around 6.

The easiest way to remember the difference between the cholesterol types is HDL;   H=healthy equals healthy (omega 3, 7, limit 6 & 9 MCFA'S =Medium Chain Fatty Acids. 3= coconut oil, 7= sunflower oil, avocado. The higher your HDL the healthier you are & less likely to experience strokes, clogged arteries Etc. You can even use cold expeller pressed coconut oil on your skin and that is the best kind of coconut oil to eat as well. You want your HDL much higher than your LDL, it will help you stay healthy.   LDL;    L=Lousy. Meat fats, processed fats.  The higher your LDL is the more likely you will have strokes, clogged artery is, heart disease, fatty liver.   Then there's lipids... they are the culprit to be blamed for many heart attacks and things like that they are very small round particles that transport fats. You can have a low overall cholesterol reading and most of it be healthy cholesterol and have a ton of lipids and there's nothing you can do to change the lipid count. High number of lipids is very dangerous.   I'm going on statins is extremely dangerous if you ask me it's just completely my opinion, because I have seen so many of my elderly friends bleed to death internally because of the statins. I mean you wouldn't take all the oil and grease out of your car or a motorcycle and then try to drive it that way would you? You see that's what statins do they remove all of your bodies fats and it doesn't matter whether it's healthy fats or a lousy fats. It removes all of them and then your body can't function properly. You have to have fats to keep your skin supple and to stay warm. Your body also needs fats to digest & process certain nutrients, amino acids & vitamins.   Your brain is composed of fat so is that something you really want to remove with a pill every morning and night?   The thing about statins is that they also make the blood vessels and capillaries permeable. So this is how my friends who were on cardiac medication for a long time and statins ended up bleeding internally to death.   If you want to make sure that your heart is healthy, take odorless garlic at night and magnesium, vitamin K & calcium.
