OK, finished cleaning out the pantry and fridge. Now on to the cooking and eating utensils.

How far should I go? Wife and two middle school aged daughters(all celiac free) to share kitchen with.

My own strainer and large boiling pot are a must, probably my own fry pan also. What about spatulas, knives, forks and such. I know it's my own decision, but any advice is appreciated?

On a positive note, our local food bank just lost a bunch of food due to a broken water pipe, so the four boxes of gluten-filled goodies I walked in with this morning was much appreciated :)

Sounds like you are well on your way!

I pitched all my wooden spoons and got rid of the scratched up non-stick pans. A separate colander is a good thing for your own pasta. Your own toaster. If you have used an iron skillet to fry gluten foods, that should be avoided.

I find that a good run in the dishwasher does the job or a good hand wash.

Other than that, teach your family how important it is not to leave bread crumbs around. (that a hard one <_< )

Good luck

Perhaps you'll need to mix your own cocktails?

Your son has two positive blood tests for celiac disease, plus a positive biopsy for it...why hasn't your doctor diagnosed him with celiac disease, which is the most likely diagnosis based on the test results you shared? The next step should be a gluten-free diet, which your doctor already recommended.

I am glad to hear you are not taking acid blocking meds as they increase gut PH which inhibits mineral absorption which, in turn, often causes the body to rob it's own bones of the calcium it needs for various metabolic processes. I was asking about that because acid reflux is very common in the celiac community.

I am not taking anything except for the multivitamins that I purchased from the supermarket.

This is what my Cardiologist prescribed for my weight.  My husband is prescribed 10,000 units.  When I say prescribed I do not mean a prescription is needed, just that the 2 respective dosages are what he ordered according to our size/weight.  My cardiologist is accepted as one of Houston's leading cardiologists.
