Where did you buy your chalice. I went to a Catholic supply store today.

All of there chalices were over $200 . Is that a good price?

Please let me know. Thank you.

I bought a small one ... it's larger than a traveling chalice (which is no bigger than a shot glass), but much smaller than a regular one. I think mine was about $80. You might ask to see a catalog to see if you can order a smaller one.

They sound very beautiful, I have never seen one up close since only the priest gets the wine in our church. Are they just a solid color or are there designs.

Hi..I belong to St. Agnes cathedral in Rockville Centre and they have gluten-free host (my mom asked). I haven't been to that church since being gluten-free, so I can't tell you for sure. Perhaps you can call...

Good Luck.

I belong to St. Frances in Wantagh. I was told they can only offer the low gluten host.

Are you sure it is gluten-free?

This is the Bishop's official statement on wheat in hosts. There are priests who don't follow Church teaching on this, just like some don't follow Church teaching on other things. The thing is, a rice host cannot be consecrated even if the priest is willing to use it.

Mine is gold. I think it's actually gold plated, not brass. It is very pretty!

Have you spoken with your priest? Most are willing to accomodate.

I'm sure this has been mentioned before, but here is a link to the story regarding low gluten hosts developed by the Benedictine Sisters. They contain 10 PPMs or 37 micrograms.

I am asking for my six year old. It took us four months to figure out what was going on- a brand of extra virgin olive oil we were using for every meal. We changed the brand she instantly got better- from Gi to nephropathy to joint pain, to tinnitus to dry eyes. You name a symptom and she has it when glutened, so it's difficult to second guess when it's all so obvious. Anyway, two months later, i bought another bottle of the same brand, and the olive oil was sourced form 5 different countries, as opposed to one. It took exactly a month for her symptom to start all over again. And sure enough it was the oil! I am sorta getting tired of trying to get these "healthy" oils glutening her. Does anyone have any thought on cooking oils that they think for sure are not contaminated, or any certified glutenfee brands they suggest? I'd appreciate. At this point, I just need any oil that's free of contamination- healthy or otherwise. Healthier is better. But i'll tkae anything. Thanks

@CeliacPsycho246, You might try cutting out dairy.  Some of us react to Casein, the protein in dairy, the same as to gluten.

Yep, the edit window times out very quickly. It's okay. I got a good laugh out of it.
