Does anyone know if these are gluten free? They do contain modified food starch. I've always been leary of that unless I know the source and from what I've seen it doesn't list the source.

Do you have a listing of gluten free products?

Plus, the only mfs source that is required to be listed is wheat...so if it does NOT list wheat, then it is safe (per food labeling law).

I do know that they are supposed to declare the wheat, however... I saw some stuff at Big Lots and it's not necessarily the freshest stuff. Or manufactured in this country. So that kind of worried me. Then I got to craving tamales. I know these are not the best tamales around, but given my food allergies, one that I'm not allergic to. I don't have to avoid gluten but my daughter does so I wanted to make sure before I bought them.

I actually prefer Hormel tamales over actual tamales*, and have for years before my diagnosis. They remind me of the little tamales I used to get at my favorite Chicago hot dog joint. That they were gluten-free was just a bonus.

 

*This is the highest form of blasphemy according to my wife.

All of the above posts are more than 10 years old.  ingredients change over time, so please check for yourself before eating.

      If you have hemorrhoids 1x weekly I don't see how you have time to heal from one episode before you experience another one, unless each one is a very minor event. Have you consulted a physician about your hemorrhoid issue? It's not normal to be having an episode every week unless it is really one episode that is not completely healing between weekly...

      No I haven't had one since 2021. I rarely have more than 1 per week.

      Sorry, I see that now as I reread your original post. You say you have hemorrhoids "only once a week" now. When I develop hemorrhoids, which is once every few years now, it generally takes 3-4 days for healing to take place. So, it doesn't seem like you could have much relief time between episodes if you have them weekly. Have you had a lower GI scoping done...

      Everyday I eat a medium to large apple in the morning and a large banana at night. I eat a cup of oatmeal in the evening. The ezekiel wheat bread I eat has a good amount of fiber. I haven't dealt with constipation for at least a year. Most of the time my feces are soft.
