Hi Ya'll

I was just wondering is there any gluten-free restrauants in or any restrauants that offer gluten-free in the DFW area preferrably the Arlington area.

Thanks Donna in Arlington TExas

I live on the OTHER side of the world of DFW-out by Plano. This place is in Plano and everything in the resturant is gluten-free and a lot is Dairy free. It was the best sandwhich and well worth the drive from Arlington if you have the time. The staff is also very knowledgable about food allergies and such and were very good. You can also order from them online if you have a special event.

The second link is my life saver.

I hope this helps you some. I really like Delicious-n-fit and with it being local owned, I like to try to support them any way I can.

red hot and blue has many gluten-free things, theres one on collins and 30.also, logans by the northeast mall is great, i always get a plain steak with no seasoning or anything and a baked potato. They also don't use crutons in their normal salad, and as long as you get it without cheese or bacon you're good. and, chipotle on collins!

Hey Donna,

I have visited Delicious-N-Fit in Plano on two Saturday afternoons for blue cheese hamburgers. It was so satisfying to be able to bite into a real burger on a real bun (albiet a somewhat unorthodox one) that someone else cooked.

It is a small unassuming place with a surprisingly ambitious menu. They also have a separate room stocked with various gluten-free products such as flour mixes, cake mixes, cookie mixes, etc., and frozen items that they bake and offer for sale.

best regards, lm

LM,

I just noticed you are in Wylie. I live out that way also. There is a Taco place on Highway 78 called Tacos y Salsa. All their tacos come on corn tortillas. We ate there all the time before I was gluten-free, because it was the one place that "didn't make my stomach hurt" I still eat there at least once a week without problems. The owners is extremely nice and usually there and willing to answer any question you have about the food.

Bad me, I have never actually checked the ingredients, (I should I know) but I have never gotten sick from eating there.

Kat,

And the best part is, they have a very nice selection of 100% agave tequilas! I'm a big tequila lover. It's actually more than a taco place. I was surprised how big it is inside. But I understand they expanded a while back.

I talked to the manager at the new Asados (between Wyle and Sachse), and he assured me they use corn tortillas also for their enchaladas and no wheat flour in the chili sauce. We haven't tried it yet, but my co-workers have been there several times and like it. They have a nice menu, with items such as quail, etc.

If your ever over on Greenville Ave in Dallas, I highly recommend the enchaladas at Cowboys Chicken. They are very different, more of a southwestern taste than a tex-mex, and are to die for. Three corn tortillas filled with their rotisserie white meat chicken (cooked in an open brick oven), and covered with a delicious white/light green sauce. A little spicy, a little tangy, and a lotta flavor! I don't know what kind of sauce it is, it may have cheese ?, avocado ?, cilantro ?, I don't know. The chef assured me there is no wheat flour in it and I have had it twice lately with no reactions.

best regards, lm

That is good to know on Asada's-I have heard it is really good. And I am excited about Cowboy Chicken-I work right off Greenville and used to enjoy it before.

The story behind the "Taco Place" is when they first opened two years ago, it was literally 3 tables and the salsa bar-about a 1/4 of what it is now. He has actually done two expansions, and at least one menu expansion.

What is your favorite tequila? I am a Don Julio Repasado fan and when in Los Cabos-Cabo Wabo B) Is Taco y Salsa's margarita mix gluten free? I have been craving me a margarita........

Also, if you like fish-Fish City Grill will cook anything dry.

Don Julio is good, I was given a bottle of the repasado for my birthday (can't bring myself to pay $40-$50+ for a bottle of anything). I've aquired most of the really good stuff as presents.

I discovered "real" tequila about 10 years ago while making numerous working trips to Mexico. The 100% agave tequila was still mostly undiscovered by the general public here then. Of course it was much cheaper then, especially in Mexico.

My favs are El Tesoro, Chinaco, Centinela, Don Julio, Casa Noble, Heradura. I've recently bought a bottle of La Cava De Don Agustin reposado that I enjoyed. Also aquired three bottles (one of each type) of Fina Estampa. Not available here (or Mexico), it's imported by an Oregon Co. I got it from a New Jersey distributer (pm for details). It's very good.

Have you tried Sotol? It's different, I use it in margaritas (mixed with other tequilas). Nicely packaged, yet very reasonably priced. It's technically not tequila as it's made from wild harvested agaves. But it is 100% agave. Goody Goody has it for $23. Hacienda De Chihuahua Sotol reposado (also blanco & a

I would suggest you ask your doctor to order a "total IGA" test to check for IGA deficiency.

I did a gluten challenge. I ate bread yesterday. I immediately felt horrid. Depressed, fearful, angry.  I also had the weirdest night terrors and "day terrors" (delusions). They were do awful, that I am still terrified. How do gluten impact your dreams?
    • Tazzy11
Thanks so much for replying!  No I haven't been limiting gluten prior to this test, I didn't know the Dr even tested for it until I got my results. These were the only celiac related pathology that was tested for. I am seeing my Dr on Monday so hopefully she can shed some more light!

New here as well lots of things learning I’ve discovered lots of foods have sneaky gluten so be mindful how is it going?? I have issues when I do cocktails 🍸 I don’t know if it is gluten free or not but get horrible side effects and so many others ooh well we are all learning how to cope with this….

Thanks a lot! I will search that too. I also talked to another doctor and she assured me there is no gluten in this type of antibiotics. Anyway i started the administration of Augmentin on my girl this evening. I hope there will be no problems.
