Ever Hear Of This?

My doctor's assistant sent a note in the mail saying my test indicated that I was not allergic to wheat. I called to ask for the specific results and he gave me this:

IGA plus T (266)

Ttg (4)

I was looking at everyone else's postings, but I didn't see anybody with the same description. Did I get the wrong tests? It just said "Celiac Test" on the lab form.

Hi there. I'm pretty new at this myself, and I'm still pursuing a diagnosis. Celiac Test is extremely vague. IgA and Ttg are elements of a series of tests. I don't have my Ttg results, so I can't compare them (mine came up as negative, I know that). But my lab slip shows the following range(s):

IgA: under 20 units is negative

20-30 units is weak positive

30+ units is moderate to strong positive

IgG scale is very similar, just add 4 pts.

I had both of these and they came up a weak/moderate positive respectively.

Depending on where you live, level may be based on a different scale, I'm in America.

Hope that helps a little!

The IgA plus T would probably be your total serum IgA. this test would show that you are not deficient in Immunoglobulin A, which would alther your other tests if you were deficient. It looks like a normal amount of IgA.

The Ttg test is the Tissue Transglutaminase test to check for Celiac. This is apparently the most specific blood test for Celiac, but it only is in positive range if you have a lot of damage to the intestines that have allowed the antibodies to "leak" into your blood stream. They should have also run the Anti-gliadin IgG and Anti-gliadin IgA for a complete picture. A lot of people only test positive on one of the three. Often it is only the IgG that shows positive in people who don't have a lot of intestinal damage yet.

It took me 2015 to 2021 at 10,000 IU a day to get to 80 ng/ml. In 2019 I was still only 47 ng/ml The highest it has reached is 93.  Tested every 3 months.     While a one time massive dose can be used to quickly raise vitamin D levels, its effects only last three months.  Because vitamin D is stored in fat, an obese person would require more to raise blood level.     Effect of High-Dose Vitamin D Supplementation on Volumetric Bone Density and Bone Strength   The point of higher vitamin D is for the mental health and immune system requirements.  Also this study included supplementing calcium.  "Research suggests that women with low levels of vitamin D have a higher risk of breast cancer. Vitamin D may play a role in controlling normal breast cell growth and may be able to stop breast cancer cells from growing." This information is provided by Breastcancer.org. https://www.breastcancer.org/risk/risk-factors/low-vitamin-d-levels Higher vitamin D levels have been consistently associated with reduced risks of colorectal cancer https://www.cancer.gov/about-cancer/causes-prevention/risk/diet/vitamin-d-fact-sheet

I am asking for my six year old. It took us four months to figure out what was going on- a brand of extra virgin olive oil we were using for every meal. We changed the brand she instantly got better- from Gi to nephropathy to joint pain, to tinnitus to dry eyes. You name a symptom and she has it when glutened, so it's difficult to second guess when it's all so obvious. Anyway, two months later, i bought another bottle of the same brand, and the olive oil was sourced form 5 different countries, as opposed to one. It took exactly a month for her symptom to start all over again. And sure enough it was the oil! I am sorta getting tired of trying to get these "healthy" oils glutening her. Does anyone have any thought on cooking oils that they think for sure are not contaminated, or any certified glutenfee brands they suggest? I'd appreciate. At this point, I just need any oil that's free of contamination- healthy or otherwise. Healthier is better. But i'll tkae anything. Thanks
