Does Any One Have Problems Eating Kettle Brand Potato Chips?

They say on the website they are gluten free but made on shared lines. I bought the Kettle Brand Baked Lightly Salted Potato Chips yesterday and before I dive in just wanted to see if any one had problems with them? I'm typically pretty sensitive and try to avoid shared line products in general but was craving something salty!

We have not had issues with them. They are officially made on shared lines, but the only chip that is made in the facility that is not gluten free is the cheddar beer flavor chip. When they ELISA test the cheddar beer chips, there is so little gluten that it does not even show up on the test. They have tested with independent agencies. The pita and pretzel chips are made at a different facility than the potato and corn chips. I spoke to a representative a little over a month ago. I consider these chips safe. I use Kettle Chips as an alternative to Frito-Lay.

Thanks! I was assuming the pita chips were made on the same line but good to know they aren't! Can't wait to get home from work now

I second the vote of confidence. I eat these all the time. I also eat the Salt & Pepper ones (WHEN I can find them). Given the ELISA test mentioned, I'm tempted to try the Beer & Cheddar ones too ....BUT.....Kettle Chips are my favorite brand of chips! :D

OOohhh.....I loooove, loooove kettle chips!!!!!! ;) My faves are lightly salted and BBQ. Hubby will eat them too! (They must be good if he'll eat 'em)

I called Kettle, and they said they had a separate facility for their potato chips after the expiration on 08/2007 and performed gluten tests regularly

I also have not had a problem with them, and am addicted to the Salt & Pepper ones. My Trader Joe's always has them, as well as my Whole Foods (they even have the smaller and bigger bags).

be wary of the ingredient MALTODEXTRIN not only does it contain a component of MSG it is possibly a wheat derrivitive in europe as well as the USA.. i have a Severe gluten allergy and have noticed a reaction to all kettle chips products.. the facilities are possibly contaminated as well as the ingredients... be aware that big business uses whatever products are cheapest not allways the safest

I also eat the Kettle chips without problems!

I eat them with no reactions. Sadly they discontinued the Dill & Sour Cream flavor, which was one of the most amazing things ever. *sigh*

After waisted time of new care team, yet again EXHAUSTED saw new gi today in Modesto, though all my ailments im not getting any kind of concern of me being celiac and sentive to just about everything since menopause. Dr daid why don't I go see you guys because my blood shows zero for celiac. I told him im glutenfree since 1994 by colonoscopy with biopsy positive celiac sprue by GI.Its RIDICULOUS when im bringing in material from this site of knowledge as well as the autoimmune institute, and  there's zero interest on their part.Medical IS causing me depression.Im view as a disability chaser, IM STILL RECOVERING from being a bus driver that im still healing and having more issues, now I may have multiple sclerosis or meningioma. Ive reached out, wrote letters, NOT feeling well. This is inhumane.

I was taking medicine for sibo but it was not agreeing with my stomach at all.Was on gabapentin but it amps me up.I was taking in morning because it wasn't allowing me to sleep. This has always been an issue with medicine and me.Even going to dentist, the good shot that numbs you once, I can't take because it makes my heart beat fast and I  get the shakes.I have to take the crappy stuff and get injected always more than 4 times always. Its infuriating

I showed one doctor I went to once because completely clueless of celiac disease and yes that one was connected to a well known hospital and she said oh thats just a bunch of people that think they are celiac coming together. I said um no they have doctors and knowledge behind what is being written. So bay area is Downplaying this site! SADLY

If you successfully digest gluten with enzyme supplements so it won’t give you side effects, your challenge won’t be worthwhile because the digested fragments of gluten also won’t stimulate antibody production or cause intestinal damage.
