Good going cruelshoes!

I'm still loving this stuff although I'm now thinking that I need a slight darker shade. I may actually have to mix two different shades together.

I'm also loving the fact that I wore the make for 7 days in a row with no major breakouts!!!! That's a record. I was only wearing my BE once a week, and I'd break out right afterwards. So there is obviously something in the BE that I react to. I'm still using the BE eyeshadows and eyeliner, and I can tell it makes my eyes burn a little. Yesterday I picked colors for the mini eyeshadow kit, lol. Now I just have to figure out if I want to order anything else. :P

Donna, I so agree about the not breaking out! I never had a clue it was the makeup that was bothering my face. I tried so many brands that were hypoallergenica and fragrance free thinking it had to be something else causing the breakouts. I've also worn mine several days in a row and am thrilled at the results and the greatl condition of my skin. It's wonderful!

Also my order did come in yesterday. I was so thrilled because I ordered it on December 21st. Never really thought it would arrive by Christmas. Wooohooo!

I think I need to take a break from ordering for now. I bought 3 or 4 different color foundations, blushes, and eyeshadows and hope I won't feel the need to order anything else soon.

Did this makeup dry anyone elses skin out??? I have dry scaly patches all over my face. My skin did this last time I tried a cheaper brand of mineral makeup too, darn it. I love the makeup though, it looked great. I just wish my skin would cooperate with me!!!

It's not a complete loss though, I love the lip gloss. I have Natural, which looks good alone or on top of other colors, and it doesn't dry my lips out. I'll definately be getting all the other colors too!

I'll bet it's the bismuth--I had the same problem with BE, and I'm pretty sure that is why.

Ok gals, I have now caught the EM obsession...better late than never I suppose

I just placed another order :D . I ordered another sample kit with the same foundation color just all the different finishes to see which I like best, apple blush, and skinlight concealer. Then I ordered some finishing dust powder, the natural lip gloss, and the mini eye shadow kit (10 eyeshadow colors and the premium eye shadow brush!!!!)

The 10 eyeshadows I got are: ginger peach, thank you, emerald, exhale, morocco, cypress, oasis, comfy, baby bath, and sunset voyage.

Yay, I'm so excited.

Donna, glad you aren't experiencing any breakouts with it :D

taweavmo3, I have dry patchy skin in areas too and when I apply makeup it seems to flake up even more and peel off. It did that the first time I put on the EM, but as the day went on it got better for some reason. The second time I used it I applied it closer to putting on my mousturizer and that seemed to also make a big difference. Another thought, it could also be the type of finsih (matte, semi matte, intensive, etc) you are using??

How is everyone else doing with their EM and new colors??

No not really...I looks a little "dry" on me because I think I got the wrong forumation. I tend to have oily skin at times, so I got the "dryest" formulation. I think I need semi-matte.

Hum, maybe.

That little mini eyeshadow kit is so much fun. I almost ordered TWO of them, lol. I haven't placed my order yet, it's still in my cart, but I expect to order tomorrow. :P

I thought I would take a break from ordering for a while too. Then I changed my mind

I decided I wanted another free sample kit, and then, somehow, Favorite Hoodie, Jump Rope and natural lip gloss ended up in my cart.:D. In the free kit I got Nick Nack and the pink concealer. :D

Yay, finally!

Has anyone tried Waffle Cone blush?

Not yet, but give me a day or two and I'm sure I'll have ordered it.

I'm seeing a future self-help group, EMA (EverydayMinerals Anonymous - Hello, my name is Laura and I'm addicted to . . . ) :D:lol:

OK, so I'm not liking the foundation I picked, Fawn Matte. I think I look too pale - almost ghostly :o ! So I went back to my samples and found out that Golden Fair Matte with Pick Me Up Pink Concealor gives me more color.

Has anyone tried the finishing powers - which ones and what do you think of them?

I've got to go - my cart's been empty for a couple days and I'm starting to feel the shakes  !

There is a salon in town here that offers a free Bare Escentuals consultation. I had one yesterday so I could see what kind of tips I could gain on applying the everyday minerals. OMG - I had no idea the Bare Escentuals stuff was so freaking expensive! One of the BE brushes costs the same as one of the full kits from Everyday Minerals! No way I could afford to buy all that.

Thank you , Mango04 for posting this thread. I am having so much fun trying new things with this makeup. Next payday I plan to order my full kit with all the brushes and stuff.

dlp252 Apprentice

I know Colleen! I just placed an order this morning that came to around $32 after my 10% discount. That included a kit with 4 blushes and 2 foundations, a mini eyeshadow kit (with 10 eyeshadows) and a free sample kit. Plus that amount should get me the two free brushes and two free eyeshadows, lol. $32 is about what a foundation at BE costs I think. Amazing to me really! And, the added benefit of my face not breaking out is just fantastic.

The little free sample kits are actually lasting me a LONG time. I think I've gotten 6 applications out of the little foundation sample so far and I still have plenty left. Amazing!

Yes, thanks Mango! :P

I know what you mean about the cost BE. :o Did you get some good tips from them though (and did they give you a "buff, tap, swirl" demo?)

I've tried Natural Reflections Pink, Finishing Dust and Silk Dust  . If I had pretty skin, I'd honestly consider just using tinted silk dust on my face and nothing else. It gives a nice smooth finish when applied to the skin with nothing else over or under it. Finishing Dust is my favorite though. It has more of an "airbrushed" quality than any of the others.

I just placed another order

What did you order, Donna?

Okay I just have to say that I love the Eve brush that I got for free with my last order. It's a really awesome blush brush. I had a couple colors I previously didn't like too much - soft touch and soft bronzer - but I love the way they look when applied with the Eve brush.

Okay, heading over to the EMA meeting now

ooooh fun order :D You must post reviews of the colors as you try them :D

So, I just looked at myself in the mirror and I'm kind of green today :o. I have that fashionable kermit look going on. I guess I overdid the mint in my rush to get out the door this morning. Oh well. Is a green face better than a red scar-covered face? (it does hide my scars lol).

HURRY! HURRY!

aaah I just missed it. I can't believe how many brushes they give away. Their brushes are really goo too B)

WAIT, hold the phone!!!! Today only??

Pooper scooper, I should have waited until today to place my order. Although I can't complain because all I ended up ordering was way cheap.......but the FREE brushes, that hurts a little bit :lol:

Donna, wow you ordered lots of fun stuff. I look forward to a review of all your new colors!!

Colleen, that's a good idea to go to a BE class! There are a lot of tricks specific to applying mineral make-up and if you can get some tips and pointers form professionals all the better. I might see if they have something like that in my area.

:lol::lol:

Yeah that worries me about the mint concealer, I have only applied it really lightly on my red ruddy areas and so far so good.

Are you applying it wet or dry?

dlp252 Apprentice

Hooray, the stuff I ordered 7 days ago is here! Okay, more accurately, it's somewhere in our mailroom. If I don't see our mail guys in the next hour I'm hunting them down!

Dry. I usually just dust it on but I really globbed it all over my face with a good concealer brush this morning.

I figure...either people at work are looking at me and wondering why I look so strange and green today (which is funny, in a way), or the concealer is doing its job and really covering up my redness. It's a win-win situation

Mango04 Enthusiast

Hooray. Go hunt down the mail guys...and tell us about the kabuki brush.:lol: I'm also wondering about cozy night lip gloss. Does it have any orange in it?

dlp252 Apprentice

No need to hunt, they delivered it just a few minutes after I posted, lol.

I think I LOVE the kabuki brush. The kabuki brush I have been using is BE, and it's a short little stubby handle but a gianormous brush head. This has a little bit smaller brush head and a longer handle (but not too long). It's really soft! Ummm.

The Cozy Night Lip Gloss is a nice color...I don't have it on my lips yet, lol, but I'm looking at it on the back of my hand. It is a darker red (almost brown) color. It doesn't look orange on my hand. Hum, maybe I should take off the Spring Pink and put this one on, lol. The spring pink looks almost a little to light for me, but I often layer several lip glosses, so that's not a problem. :P

My Cherry Fizz Lip Gloss doesn't work. It won't twist up. I'll use it with a lip brush, but I can't try that on now, lol.

My gifts were the eve brush...think I'll like that one as well. Also Mistletoe and Tinsletown eyeshadows...both of which I love in the container...hope they look good on, expecially since the Tinseltown is a free gift in the stuff I ordered today. I would never have ordered the green eyeshadow, but it may actually look pretty good.

dlp252 Apprentice

Nevermind...I couldn't stand it so I went and tried on the Cozy Night lip gloss.

It looks very natural on me. It adds just a touch of color. It's not really orange, but it does look brownish.

When I was first Dg’d I researched like mad. One thing I remember from then, which may have changed with advancement in medical science, is that Coeliac is a first generation disease which means either you or your husband need be Coeliac for your daughter to have inherited it. Far as I know, and I’m not a scientist just a victim, the amount of gluten (wheat, rye, or barley) one consumes does not cause a person to contract Coeliac Disease. So if neither of you as her biological parents have Coeliac then your daughter cannot pass any blame should she contract this horrific disease.     It’s humbling, and sometimes I believe GOD allows such as these autoimmune diseases for those who need it most.
    • Lori Lavell
The body reacts to all grain proteins in all grains from my observation. Call it Gluten, Gliadin, which is what they test for commonly, however, I am Celiac and react with dermatitis herpetiformis to corn and the glutenous protein in it is called Zein. They only test for Gliadin. Testing needs to be updated in my opinion. It only take a small parts per million to continuously create systemic inflammation. This is not productive to healing and all grains contain some for gluten like substance. It's called Molecular Mimicry.
    • Scott Adams
Thank you for sharing your perspective. It's true that many grains contain proteins that are technically classified as "glutens" (like zein in corn and orzenin in rice), but it's important to clarify that these proteins are not the same as the gluten found in wheat, barley, and rye, which contains gliadin and glutenin. These specific proteins are the ones that trigger an autoimmune response in people with celiac disease. For individuals with celiac disease, the primary concern is avoiding gluten from wheat, barley, and rye, as these are the grains scientifically proven to cause damage to the small intestine. While some people with celiac disease or non-celiac gluten sensitivity may also react to other grains, this is not universal and varies from person to person. For most people with celiac disease, grains like corn and rice are considered safe and are widely recommended as part of a gluten-free diet. That said, you raise an important point about systemic inflammation and individual tolerance. Some people may indeed have sensitivities to other grains or find that eliminating additional grains helps them feel better. However, it’s crucial to differentiate between celiac disease, which requires strict avoidance of wheat, barley, and rye, and other conditions or sensitivities that may involve broader dietary restrictions.
    • trents
I disagree, Lori. Gluten is a particular protein, not a category of proteins. It is found in wheat, barley and rye. Other cereal grains have proteins that resemble gluten to one degree or another but are not gluten. Gluten is gluten. Avenin is avenin. But yes, it is true, that informally speaking, some have used the term "gluten" to refer to the proteins found in these other cereal grains. It's like the term "kleenex" has come to refer to all facial tissues.
    • Lori Lavell
In fact ALL grains contain different forms of gluten that go by different names. Corn contains Zein and Rice contains Orzenin. We all need to realize that a very small amount of any of these grains can cause continued systemic inflammation which is not optimal for allowing the body to heal itself.
