Finally, Decent Waffles!

Hey there everyone,

I just made my "big" quarterly order of gluten-free flours and products from several of my favorite companies. Most of what I order is simply to bake with...i.e. flours, etc.

But, this time I splurged and purchased Kinnikinnick gluten-free waffles. Oh my goodness, they were the closest thing to eggos I've had since going gluten-free! I have bought the Vaughn's waffles several times. I'm not that fond of the flavor, and mine always seem to fall apart (literally)...it's like scooping up crumbs.

The waffles from kinninnick were crispy when toasted and had a "waffle consistancy."

Well, I just thought I'd share.

Blessings. :) -Julie

I have heard that Pamelas mix is good too :) I wanted to point out that I originally stated the wrong company...the waffles came from Kinnikinnick not B-R-Mill.

Happy Baking. -Julie

I get Lifestream Wildberry and those are pretty darn good! I was never a fan of Eggos, but since going gluten-free I was looking for some different breakfast ideas. I tried Vans and they were good. Then my healthfood store had Lifestream, so I bought those. Yummy!! Nice and crunch on the outside, but soft on the inside. Mmmm! I've got two in my toaster as I type :P !

Rosebud, I am with you! Those Lifestream waffles are pretty darn good!! I discovered them yesterday and had them for breakfast this AM. It was such a nice change from my regular cold cereal, and it felt so good to finally eat waffles again and know that I wouldn't pay for it later!!

I love both van's and lifestream waffles, though they are a bit crumbly. I haven't tried their waffles, but kinnikinnick's frozen stuff like that tends to be really good! the donuts and bagels are to DIE for! Plus they're not as loaded with fat and sugar as a lot of gluten-free baked goods are, and theyre each 260 calories. And they have 5g of protein and fiber (both the donuts and the bagels) so i don't even feel guilty :-) ok only a little guilty...lol but they're worth it

as my brother put it, if it doesnt make you sick, it's good for you :-)

I'm from CT and get kinnikinnick products at pricechopper (which has a very impressive gluten-free section) or a big health food store like whole foods. We also have a local grocery store chain here called geissler's, and my celiac friend's sister works there so they special ordered a bunch of stuff :-) so try asking at your local grocery store and see if they'll order stuff

I love the lifestream waffels. I was amazed to find them in the freezer section at Vons of all places. I like their texture and taste better than Vans. No more going to the organic store for waffles, LOL.

I had asked my local health food store about Kinnickinnic's waffles and they would see if they can get them. I've been there since then and no waffles (they are pretty good about getting things customers ask about). I've looked at Whole Foods (they have Lifestream) and nothing <_< !

I've had K's donuts and they are wonderful!! I love that they aren't as fattening as gluten donuts!
