What is 30 Rock all about?

I only watched it a couple of times, but 30 Rock, I believe, centers around the behind the scenes productions of a variety type show. Alec Baldwin a head honcho type (producer, or head of the network/studio?) , Tina Fey plays the head writer I think. Tina's character and Alec's character are on a different page when it comes to the direction of the show, and along with the rest of the cast, comedy ensues.

Julie--that's a great description! I've only seen it a handful of times, but thought it was very funny--especially Tracy Morgan's character. He makes me laugh

I admit, I watched it a couple times too but I didn't catch on.

Another thing, I don't get why they have to kick someone off every week, isn't it suppose to be Bruno's team against Carrie Ann's team, emphasis on team?? I think trying to make it an elimination like Survivor or Big Brother kind of ruins it.

Well, now that the writer's strike is over and shows are returning--what to do on Monday? Dancing With the Stars is returning at the same time as Big Bang Theory
