I am absolutely have gluten reactions to Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ Sauce (this time the Sweet n Spicy).  My home is completely gluten free as I’m extremely sensitive.  I have eaten this in the past without severe issues but the other night, it was the only thing that could have caused one of the most horrible gluten reactions I have ever gotten.  3 days of misery to wade through now.  I had a bad reaction once before and I discounted this as being the culprit since it is labeled gluten free.  It can’t possibly be!  I wouldn’t react like this if it was.  The fact that there is a 12 year running blog on this product specifically tells me that something is up with it, regardless of how it is labeled and regardless of what the company says.  I won’t eat it again, ever.

So glad I found this discussion, same thing just happened to me tonight. I couldn’t figure out what I was reacting to! No more Sweet Baby Ray’s in this house, unfortunately.

Sweet Baby Ray's does make the "gluten-free" claim on many of their sauces on their web site, but it looks to be a work in progress, so hopefully any issues will be resolved soon:

Do Sweet Baby Ray’s products contain gluten?
Most of our products do not contain gluten. Products and ingredients made from grains containing gluten—such as wheat, rye and barley—will be clearly listed in the ingredient statement on the package label.

Are Sweet Baby Ray’s products labeled "Gluten Free"?
Only products that meet the FDA standard for gluten free will be labeled as such. At this time, we are in the process of updating our labels to reflect this standard.  Please refer to the ingredient statement on package labels or contact us for clarification.

How do you ensure your products are gluten free?
We have a program in place to support the use of the “Gluten Free” statement. Our products are manufactured in facilities with stringent programs to insure label compliance.

Thank you both. I haven't had access to the test results but will get them and post here.

The ulcers are prepyloric ulcers. Not sure if that makes any difference.

Duodenal ulcers are not uncommon either and often result from H.Pylori infections. https://www.healthdirect.gov.au/duodenal-ulcer

I had what was termed "lesions," and normally ulcers are in the stomach, rather than the small intestines. I'm not sure why they would want you to have her continue to eat gluten, since she had a positive blood test, but as her doctor said, if she is uncomfortable and having symptoms why not have her go gluten-free at this point? If her symptoms improve, it would be another indicator that she has celiac disease and/or gluten sensitivity. This article has some detailed information on how to be 100% gluten-free, so it may be helpful (be sure to also read the comments section.):
