My Hopes And Dreams For 2005....

Happy New Year Everyone!!!

My hope is that 2005 will bring us a celiac cure.

My hope is that the medical establishment will wake up and really start to understand and detect this disease in the millions of people who currently are suffering from it and don't know what it is they have.....

My hope is that the world will turn a corner and really start trying in earnest to obtain peace around the world.....

My hope is that God will take care of all of the children left without parents in Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Thailand and all of the other countries effected by the tragedy this week.......

I have high hopes for myself and my family this year. We are moving in six days, we sold our house in the city (Toronto) and bought a house out of town (about 45 minutes outside of the city), in a nice little town. I am staying home on sick leave for about 1 year to concentrate on getting my health back on track. I have a positive feeling that we will find a treatment that works for me for the collagenous colitis and my health will really take a turn for the better..... I am excited to start a new life in a new town, new home, get the children into a community that has that "small town" feel to it. We made enough from the sale of our house to be able to climb out of the mountain of debt we are in, and take that weight off our shoulders.... Yep, I really have high hopes for this year.....

I hope for health and happiness for 2005 to all my friends on this site.

Have a wonderful Happy New Year!

Karen

Yes, Happy New Year, everyone!

I have similar hopes to yours :). Also, I heard Dr. Green talk on NPR a couple weeks ago. He said that within the next five years, there will very likely be a treatment (not cure) for celiac. It won't allow you to eat wheat, but, I guess it would heal your intestines and perhaps aid your digestive system. I guess the 1/2 hour radio segment is also a positive step for celiac awareness. We're getting articles in magazines, newspapers, and now segments on the radio. The word will get out...it might take a little while, but more people are getting diagnosed now and I think the word is really starting to spread. After all, if you look at how many new members we have and the rate at which they are coming, we're making progress! :D

Of course I hope that I can sort out my stomach and digestive issues during this next year. Actually, I hope we can all get healthy in 2005! All the best to everyone here and happy new year!

AMEN to all those comments, Karen! :)

With what has happened with the tidal wave and tsunami (sp), it has really made me realise how very blessed I am.

I wish all my friends here a wonderful and peaceful 2005.

God bless.

@CeliacPsycho246, You might try cutting out dairy.  Some of us react to Casein, the protein in dairy, the same as to gluten.

Yep, the edit window times out very quickly. It's okay. I got a good laugh out of it.

I wrote that by mistake and there is no where I can edit this.

I hope you meant "pen pal" instead of "paypal".

Hi, I would be open to having a paypal. I am celiac as well. And am struggling with all symtoms.
