Gluten Free Travel To Disney Resort In Anaheim

Hi Everyone,

I am new on here, and we are traveling to Disney Resort in Anaheim at the beginning of July, (not same as disney world) and need to know where I can take my son to eat, or get gluten-free snacks etc. The hotel we are staying at will have a fridge and microwave etc. but it would be nice to eat out a couple of times while we are there. We are getting better at getting them to prepare foods for him, as well as most restaurants are more knowledgable. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

My family and I went to Disney in CA three years ago. We had the best time! We stayed at the Disneyland hotel and just did CA Adventure and Disney (did not go anywhere else). The character breakfast was wonderful. They made me gluten-free waffles and walked through the buffet line to tell me what I could have (keep in mind I am the only one with celiac disease). At the park there were several places that were fantastic with my diet. The mexican resturant was the best! Since we have gone you can now go to the entry desk? and obtain a gluten-free list of places to eat and snacks that you can have. Chef Chris (in charge of food service) is also a great resource and extremely helpful. I do not have his number but I think if you do some searches it will come up. You will have a great time!

We had the BEST time there just yesterday.

You will be able to eat out every meal if you want to. The first thing you need to do is to go to Town Hall (on the left hand side- right when you enter the park) and get a list of "celiac offerings". It tells you all the options at each restaurant for both Disneyland and California Adventure. When you choose your restaurant- ask for the lead and they will walk you through it. We ate at Pizza Port in Tomorrowland and had a great meal!! The lead was knowledgalbe about cross contamination and preparation practices. She made us amazing gluten free pizza and pasta!!!! I was so excited. The list says that you can also get a gluten-free hotdog and hamburger on a gluten-free bun at a couple of places. It is so great! Yeah for disney! The number the list says to call is 714-781-4650. I would be sure to call ahead and coordinate with both the park and the hotel.

Have a great time!!!!

Meredith

Thanks so much for replying!  No I haven't been limiting gluten prior to this test, I didn't know the Dr even tested for it until I got my results. These were the only celiac related pathology that was tested for. I am seeing my Dr on Monday so hopefully she can shed some more light!

New here as well lots of things learning I’ve discovered lots of foods have sneaky gluten so be mindful how is it going?? I have issues when I do cocktails 🍸 I don’t know if it is gluten free or not but get horrible side effects and so many others ooh well we are all learning how to cope with this….

Thanks a lot! I will search that too. I also talked to another doctor and she assured me there is no gluten in this type of antibiotics. Anyway i started the administration of Augmentin on my girl this evening. I hope there will be no problems.

Good afternoon, I don’t know if anyone here has ever tried Braswell’s products like their marmalades or jellies? Are they gluten-free? On the ingredients says “cane sugar, cherries (cherries, cane sugar), strawberries, corn syrup, pectin and citric acid. That ingredient list is from their berry preserve bottle. Most of them say the same for ingredients, but I’m not sure if it is okay to consume.

I have seen this problem many times. I always get in touch with the company. Most times they tell me if I'm just gluten free it is ok, but do not eat it if you are celiac. Calling the company is the best way when you are not sure. Yesterday I had a different example of products being marked gluten-free.  I love chocolate and have a piece each day. The chocolate bar I like is Chocolove. When I bought one this week it was not marked gluten-free. I called the company to find out why and if it was still gluten-free.  Turns out the manufacturer decided there was too much on the wrapper and took off the gluten-free label. It is made in a dedicated gluten-free facility.
