Shoot! I Forgot To Pack Lunch

I work pretty close to quite a few restaurants, but I had some yummy gluten-free spaghetti and meatballs back home that I was going to pack. I don't feel like another "burger--no bun." Any suggestions?

(Nearby are Burger King, McDonalds, and Taco Bell--as well as Subway and Blimpie, but I doubt there's anything at the sub shops I could eat.)

Sharon-

I hope that I am not answering this too late. It is already lunch time here!!

McDonalds Caesar Salad with grilled chicken.....HOWEVER make sure that they DO NOT cut the chicken, you can do that yourself. They use the same knife to cut both the crispy and grilled so you would get contaminated. Otherwise the grilled is gluten-free.

You can then choose from these dressings which are gluten-free:

Newman's Own

I like MacDonalds' french fries.

Don't bother with Taco Bell or the sub places. BK and McD both have gluten-free lists online.

Perhaps you'll need to mix your own cocktails?

Your son has two positive blood tests for celiac disease, plus a positive biopsy for it...why hasn't your doctor diagnosed him with celiac disease, which is the most likely diagnosis based on the test results you shared? The next step should be a gluten-free diet, which your doctor already recommended.

I am glad to hear you are not taking acid blocking meds as they increase gut PH which inhibits mineral absorption which, in turn, often causes the body to rob it's own bones of the calcium it needs for various metabolic processes. I was asking about that because acid reflux is very common in the celiac community.

I am not taking anything except for the multivitamins that I purchased from the supermarket.

This is what my Cardiologist prescribed for my weight.  My husband is prescribed 10,000 units.  When I say prescribed I do not mean a prescription is needed, just that the 2 respective dosages are what he ordered according to our size/weight.  My cardiologist is accepted as one of Houston's leading cardiologists.
