Looking For Advice From Photographers

Just looking for helpful hints/advice/creative ideas from other photographers. My sister in law is getting married, and asked me to take the engagement photos this weekend. I've done some baby/kid shots, some senior pics, and a lot of family vacations (candid). A little nervous and looking for some confidence :) Thanks!

Use a flash 99% of the time. if you've done baby's then parties should be a breeze. If you set people up in groups or shoot tables of people, do more than one shot. Get an extra memory card if your using digital or extra film.

When I taught photography what seems like a zillion years ago I always told students to turn the camera verticle -- something a lot of us forget to do at times.

Last time I did my friends wedding I bought 20 instnad film cameras and had people shoot pictures of each other then added that to the finsih book.

good luck

If you take pictures outside, an overcast sky is better than bright sunlight. I'm sure you already know not to have a light source behind the subject, but it seems a lot of people make that mistake. Any light that shines in the direction of the camera will screw up the shot (unless you're doing it on purpose). Think of how a person on a stage is lit with a spotlight, from behind the audience, so the light doesn't shine in everyone's eyes. Lighting is one of the most important factors which I'm aware of.

That's about all I can offer. Maybe try taking some practice pictures. Experiment with the camera features too, especially the zoom lens if it has one.

thanks for the help guys! i think it went really well :) they were really casual about the whole thing, just wanted a couple pics. i talked them into having more taken (since they're not paying for it), and i feel liek we got some good shots.

I doubt very much that it contains any gluten. It works by producing an artificial blood clot, mixing 2 or more proteins found in the natural blood clotting cascade. These are refined from human blood donations. It comes in 2 vials that are mixed immediately before use and clot quickly.

Here is more info about how to do a gluten challenge for a celiac disease blood panel, or for an endoscopy: and this recent study recommends 4-6 slices of wheat bread per day:
