Arrowroot Substitution?

IMWalt

Recommended Posts

I found a pancake recipe I want to try at www.teffco.com, but I don't want to run to the store for arrowroot. I have teff at the house. Any ideas for a sub? I'm not sure what the function of the arrowroot is.

Thanks

Walt

Arrowroot is a starch--you could sub with corn, potato or tapioca starch.

Cornstarch and arrowroot are thickeners and can be interchanged one to one. I personally have not had any experience substituting these ingredients, but all my cookbooks say they can be substituted.

Ooooooo. I'm getting ready for breakfast for dinner! Thanks!

We love doing pancakes and bacon for dinner once in a while :D Enjoy!

Thank you for your input!  I would really like to know if I have celiac disease because you need make sure you are not getting any cross contamination due to cancer concerns.  I guess I need to start with a knowledgeable Gastroenterologist. Thank you again!

Correct. I’m doing both in the same go though. Thanks for clarifying before I confused someone. I’m doing a colonoscopy for something else and then they added the endoscopy after the test.

It is a biopsy but it's not a colonoscopy, it's an endoscopy.

Well I’m going on the gluten farewell tour so they are about to find out lol. I keep saying biopsy but yeah it’s a scope and stuff. I’m a dummy but luckily my doctor is not.
