Rainforest Cafe?

I just found out a few days ago that my daughters class is going on a field trip, and they will be eating lunch at the Rainforest Cafe. I can't find any info on thier website about them, and I haven't gotten a reply yet from an email I sent to them. Has anyone been there? Is there anything safe for a picky 7 yr old? She won't eat salads.

Thanks!

I've heard of children eating there safely, but I'd be concerned that with a large group of children's meals coming in, that the chance of cc would be really high. Call the store ahead of time and talk to them. If I remember right the hot dog was safe, but I haven't eaten at a Rain Forest since dh was diagnosed

My daughter had the mini cheeseburgers without buns and the one we were at had a dedicated fryer for the fries. My husband called ahead and they were very accommodating.

We went to the Rainforest Cafe in Nashville this past July and it was the most wonderful place! I asked the served if he had a gluten-free menu and he stated he wasn't very familiar with our needs but his manager was. The manager sat down at the table with us, told me of things that I could get or that he could modify to make safe. He gave us time to place our order with the server and then checked over our selections. My son and I at this point were walking around checking out all the animals and such. The manager "tracked" us down and told me he "had it all taken care of". He checked on us several times throughout the meal as well. Everything was delicious, I was stuffed! And I didn't order any salad!

A friend (non gluten-free) was with us the day and she could not believe the quality of service and the quality of food I received. She sees the limited choices I am usually faced with and was very impressed with our experience.

I can't wait to go again!

If gluten is the problem or the only problem I should say, your stools should have normalized by now. But many in the gluten intolerant/gluten sensitive population are also dairy intolerant. Try eliminating dairy from your diet and see if the issues improve.

Thank you for your feedback.  I was not eating gluten free at time the lab was taken.  Have been gluten free now for a week. How long might it take for symptoms to go away. Only issue I have is loose stool. thanks again,,

Approximately 10x more people have non-celiac gluten sensitivity than have celiac disease, but there isn’t yet a test for NCGS. If your symptoms go away on a gluten-free diet it would likely signal NCGS.

Since you keep linking to the same site that has a focus on the microbiome, it's clear that you have a strong focus on the topic, but here it usually comes up in relation to untreated celiac disease, thus I've shared the research summaries that we've done over the years on how the two are related. Like many disorders, including celiac disease, it's clear that more research needs to be done to fully understand both SIBO and celiac disease.
