Sorry I can't answer the question, just wondering if you're okay? I was prescribed phenergan when I was pregnant and throwing up for 9 months, but it's considered category B/C for pregnancy--you'd only want it if you're really having major problems keeping food down.

For me, when I took it at the prescribed strength, it knocked me out for 17 hours, and I was totally unable to function. I ended up taking 1/4 of a dose, and only once a day instead of every 6-8 hours, and that was enough to get me through the day with a minimum of vomiting and a minimum of zombieness.

Yeah, just have a stomach bug. Threw up a couple times this morning, but have felt nauseated all day, so the doc gave me a prescription for it. Never taken it before. I will start out with half a dose, thanks for the warning.

Your doctor should be writing gluten free on your scripts. The pharmacist should be able to look up whether it is safe or not but if they don't have time get the printout from the drug and call the makers number which will be on there somewhere.

I'm not saying that your doctor is definitely wrong for wanting to stop the vomiting cycle, as dehydration might be a concern at this point. However, it is important to realize that vomiting is your body's way of getting rid of something toxic. To stop the cycle means leaving the toxin in your system for a longer period of time until your body can find another way to deal with it.

Sometimes intervention can really help, but sometimes it can make things worse. (And I don't know which it would be in your case--just wanted to put my thoughts out there for you.)

I hope you feel better soon! (I hope you are already feeling better!)

i did a google search on this site for "drug list" and found that one: Open Original Shared Link

anyone know how accurate that is?

yeah, my pharmacy sucks. they always tell me, "of course it's gluten free...blah blah blah" or if I ask them to double check, they look over the ingredients and say, "nope, no gluten on this list"....i really need to change pharmacies, just waiting for my refills to run out.

mostly, i'm taking it for the nausea. i threw up a couple times yesterday morning, but that was all (well, not all - had some explosive BM's too). anyway, i think i got all the yuckies out. i'm just extremely dizzy, and even thinking about food makes me nauseated. been drinking lots though, and taking my fiber and vitamins. hopefully will be back on my feet soon!

thanks for all your help and advice :)

I have it for nausea and yes, it is gluten-free.

Trents, It's a good question. The experts I have spoken to have told me the distillation process does remove the offensive proteins. Again, I'm not the expert on that. I'm only reporting. I don't have any issue with distilled spirits that don't have any additives. That said, maybe there is something else at play here? Good question for the forum.

I'm wondering if this is the same issue some celiacs have with distilled liquors. The complete gluten molecule is too large and heavy to to travel up with the vapor but if their are gluten fragments created by the heat, they may not be and the immune systems of some celiacs still recognize it as gluten. I have no scientific proof for this, just a thought because we have so many forum contributors who still react to these "gluten removed" products.

Thanks, Scott and Trents. Scott, tastes vary of course. The metallic taste may just be me. As to the filtration efficacy, I can only add that the micron level to remove a smaller protein chain must be pretty tight. What about the impact of hydrolization on the R5 test? I've been told it presents a challenge. Trents, thanks for the clarification. I did not draw this distinction, but can. I honestly didn't perceive the nuance.  Appreciate the feedback from you both.

I don’t think it matters much if you trust the supplier, I get them from a Welsh company maesyffin mushrooms but I think the guy there has retired from growing now and just resells eu imports so it’s probably the same mushrooms he uses to make the tinctures as the company you posted. It’d probably be cheaper to buy dried and make your own tincture.

Thank you for your prompt reply. Have others experienced LUQ and L sided back pain when on gluten? Could gluten be irritating the pancreas to cause the slight rise in lipase?
