The 99 - Gluten Free Menus (with Fries As An Option!) Now Available

Hi all,

I couldn't find anything about this by anyone else so I thought I would post as a heads up. The 99 has a gluten free menu now online and in the restaurants. I went tonight and they had one for me and the fries are also cooked in a dedicated friolator now too (at least in the Seabrook, NH location, but fries are on the gluten free menu on the web site so it would appear they are doing this at all sites now.) We double checked when we got in about the friolator with the manager and when the waitress came she was already aware that I had Celiacs, they noted it for our table for her, so it was very efficient/well organized. She was also pretty intelligent/aware of Celiacs as well which helped.

Anyways just another thumbs up for safe places to go now :-)

P.S. this is different than the nutritional information chart they used to have listed on their web site. The waitress even said before the menus, they would have to use a allergen chart in the back and it got pretty dicey, so this is a big improvement obviously for them and especially for us.

Nick

I have been dealing with dermatitis herpetiformis as long as I can remember, as of the past 6 years I’ve been able to stay on a strict enough diet to have minimal flare ups, but recently I’ve ate gluten on accident and it has caused a horrible flare up, I’m currently on a strong dose of prednisone because I don’t have an official diagnosis and the doctor would only treat it as normal hives, does anyone have any home remedies to help with the intense itching, any tips would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks for your thoughtful response. I got the blood test today, which was a full celiac serology. I'm not going to hold my breath over the blood test showing anything up, but you never know. I get the results Friday next week. For the next week I'm going to enjoy feeling well as I eat gluten free. My energy is still lagging a bit, but my gut is feeling so much better. I live in Australia where its very easy to eat gluten free. I'm absolutely dreading potentially doing the 6-week gluten challenge and the damage it will do to my insides. Is it worth it? I'm not sure. But long term I'll be strict with cross-contamination/ soy sauce/ tiny amounts if I know its actually celiac disease and not a bad intolerance.
