gluten-free Pizza In Fremont, Ca (sf Bay Area)

I searched quite a few times and couldn't find anything, so I hope this isn't a repost.

It just so happens that my gluten-free wanted pizza tonight. I got a little depressed, but told her I'd pick up pizza for her.

Then, I go flipping through the Pennysaver and find a coupon page for ZPizza in Fremont. It say, "Gluten-Free crusts available".

I call ahead, and sure enough they have some!

I picked it up tonight, the guy at the restaurant and I spoke for a few minutes and he requested that I let him know what I thought about the crust. Out of all the things we spoke about, the actual KIND of crust used wasn't discussed.. sorry, I'll update this as soon as I find out. He did say I was the first person to order the crust, they recently added it to their menu.

But I feel fine :)

The pizza was GREAT. Hands-down the BEST gluten-free crust I've had (even better than corn tortillas lol). It was thin, and didn't break up in my mouth like other crusts do. The toppings and sauce made it a quite tasty feast. I'm definitely returning.

One of the best parts: PRICE

From receipt:

Z10 Create your own Pizza $6.95

Pepperoni $1.25

Salami $1.25

Italian Sausage $1.25

They're extra toppings are a bit pricey, but the base pizza DOESN'T COST ANY MORE THAN REGULAR CRUST!!!

I got this 10" 3-topping gluten-free pizza and a 14" Half Cheese Half Pepperoni, used the $5 coupon and paid $21.24 after tax.

The gluten-free option does not seem to be on their menu, and I'm not sure if it's chainwide.

Woohoo that's awesome!! :):D

I used to live in Fremont.

Went to the website & saw the pic of the place. Isn't that where Zorba's Deli used to be? Loved that place pre-gluten-free.

Haha actually same shopping center, but it's next to supercuts, where the old C.D. (EDIT: I didnt' realize it would change the abbreviation to CELIAC DISEASE... I was really confused when I re-read my post LOL) store was. Zorbas is still there, and yeah it was good...sigh...

Another chain that offers gluten free pizza is Pizza Fusion. I've had it once; it was a little pricey but quite good. Fresh out of the oven, it is indistinguishable from regular wheat dough based crust. It gets a little less stable as it cools, but still is quite good overall. I recommend it.

They have a fair number of locations in several states.

This is so COOL! There's a ZPizza close to me (actually there are a lot of them in SoCal) and I called them and they DO have gluten free pizza crust! They said that they just started carrying it and that currently they only have it in the smallest size (personal pizza), but they may get larger crusts in the future.

Thanks for posting!

Cool, that's great to hear it's chain-wide!! If anyone would do it, it'd be Z-Wave with their "health-concious menu".

The pizza is fantastic the second day around (reheated). Better than some pizza joints I visited pre-gluten-free.

This is so funny, i was just going to ask about this place. They are opening one in Burbank in a few weeks and had the menu on the door. I didnt think anything of it until in the tiny print i saw "gluten free crust available at some locations"

I hope the Burbank one is one of them.

Hi Dawn,   Back in the Fall of 2019 with Covid looming I considered getting a pneumonia vaccine.  I went as far as getting in line and reading the pamphlet and saw the warning about not getting it if you ever had a reaction to diphtheria.  I instantly recalled a tetanus booster shot in 1971 that caused a severe reaction.  Tetanus booster shots include diphtheria.  I haven't had a tetanus shot since, but recent lab results show that I have many timed the immunity required.  Good Luck.

Since we don't know what you reacting to when you get vaccinated, we can't say whether or not the pneumonia vaccine will cause a reaction. Is there some common ingredient in these vaccines that is causing a reaction. I mean, with many vaccines the antigen is delivered via a solution containing albumin (chicken egg protein). Some people are allergic to chicken egg protein so they can't take those vaccines. That kind of thing. When you say your "numbers are off the chart", what numbers do you refer to? Are you referring to celiac disease antibodies?

Cape Cod potato chips are gluten-free, according to the company. I've never had a problem with these.

I'm 63  Thank you for the article. I have worked with Dietitian at Mayo and also had breath testing done. They felt I was following a strict gluten-free diet along with eliminating sugar alcohol and chicory root. Also don't eat a lot meat, eggs and peppers. Because I get so sick I use only gluten-free products for my skin food medicine my pet food is gluten-free and I live alone so all my cooking stuff is all brand new prior to being diagnosed.  I buy only organic certified gluten free products and if not sure  look up or just don't eat or use. The Dermatologist at Mayo gave me a list of gluten-free products that I can use. ( personal products,  laundry detergent, I use vinegar and baking soda for cleaning ) . I ask family and friends to not bring  anything  in to my home that has gluten in it. I have tried  everything and my numbers still off the charts.   So as for the pneumonia vaccine I question if it has anything in it that will react negative in me?

Dawn, yes, once the genes that give the potential for the development of celiac disease are "turned on" so to speak, they will be on for the rest of your life. It is not something that is cured or comes and goes but something that must be managed. Eliminating major sources of gluten from one's diet is pretty straight forward but many don't realize the multitude of places and ways gluten is hidden in the food supply and sneaks its way into our eats. So, eating "lower gluten' is easy but attaining a consistently and truly gluten free state is much harder and requires diligence. I am linking this article that might be of help to you in that regard:
