Clubbed Fingers

I have developed splinter hemmorhages under my nails and was cruising Medline to check if it was anything to worry about, I guess it is, but anyway I found this on clubbed fingers. I never knew that it could be associated with celiac. Thought others might find it interesting also. Not a lot of detail there but still worth knowing.

Clubbed fingers is a symptom of disease, often of the heart or lungs which cause chronically low blood levels of oxygen. Diseases which cause malabsorption, such as cystic fibrosis or celiac disease can also cause clubbing.

My husband has Chron's disease and he has clubbed fingers. I was at his fist GI apt with him many years ago and his Dr. made a note of it. Said it common in Chron's Disease.

I was just at the Celiac Specialist and he noted that one me too! I have always had fingers like that, my sister used to make fun of me when we were little because hers are so pretty. Another confirmation that I've always had active Celiac and jsut didnt have noticable outward symptoms.

      I love popcorn but it doesn't love me.  Right now my gut hurts and I am bloated and passing gas.  Am I just super sensitive. I thought popcorn was gluten free 🤔

      Hi James47, You are less than 2 years into your recovery from Celiacs.  Tell us more about the problems you are having. Do you just want to get rid of belly fat or are you still having symptoms like gas and bloating.    For symptoms you may need to change your diet and take various supplements that you cannot adsorb from the foods you eat because of the damage caused by the autoimmune reaction in your small intestine.

      My daughter (4 years old) has type 1 diabetes since she was 1. Therefore, every year a screening is done. We live in the Netherlands. Every year the screening was fine. This year here ttg is positive, 14, >7 is positive. IGA was in range. Could the diabetes cause this positive result? Or the fact that she was sick the weeks before the brood test?

      @DayaInTheSun what were the shortness of breath symptoms for you ? And did they come on all of a sudden or was it a gradual increase in said symptoms?
