Blackstrap Molasses

I actually accidentally bought an organic bottle of this stuff about a month ago - lol. I was shopping, looked at the bottle, and forgot it was in my cart...blame it on my daughter and paid way too much for it, I realized after I got home!

Anyway, being that I am low in iron, and I am not crazy about iron pills, could I take this..and at what dose?

Just curious if anyone else does this? And since it is from sugar, will it raise blood sugar levels?

Thanks!!

Black Strap is good but gross unless you know how to use it which I dont, but I worked at a healthfood store for a long time. I found this stuff to be great! I bled alot during my miscarriage and I lost a lot of iron. This is easy on the body and stomach! I loved it! AND...its gluten free!!

I love molasses! I use it quite a bit when cooking any time a recipe calls for sugar. It makes great caramelized onions. I also add it to pasta sauces. I generally use regular sugar when baking but might add a tsp or two for flavor.

My mother and aunt take a teaspoon every day for iron but I never really got around to doing that. :)

Thank you for your input!  I would really like to know if I have celiac disease because you need make sure you are not getting any cross contamination due to cancer concerns.  I guess I need to start with a knowledgeable Gastroenterologist. Thank you again!

Correct. I’m doing both in the same go though. Thanks for clarifying before I confused someone. I’m doing a colonoscopy for something else and then they added the endoscopy after the test.

It is a biopsy but it's not a colonoscopy, it's an endoscopy.

Well I’m going on the gluten farewell tour so they are about to find out lol. I keep saying biopsy but yeah it’s a scope and stuff. I’m a dummy but luckily my doctor is not.
