Sprouts Farmers Markets

I notice that in my Sprouts Farmers Market weekly specials mailer that they are offering, "a new Sprouts personal pizza" in the deli section. It's an 8" gluten-free personal pizza on sale for $2.99. I haven't tried it so can't vouch if it's any good but $2.99 seems like a great price! (Sprouts are in California, Arizona, Colorado, and Texas.)

Ooh! I will have to go check that out. Just read my flyer after seeing this post! Maybe I will have to go tonight..... sounds better than fish to me right now!

Update: the pizza is AWESOME. I would highly recommend it. It is just cheese with some parsley, so you can doctor it as you see fit. I just tossed it in the toaster oven until it looked done.

Ingredients are: Crust: Rice flour, Tapioca flour, Water, potato starch, potato flakes, olive oil, sugar, yeast, salt, italian seasoning, garlic powder.

Cheese: Cultured pastuerized milk, salt, rennet

Sauce: Tomato puree from fresh tomatoes, salt, sugar, extra virgin olive oil, spices, garlic powder.

Definitely filled that craving for pizza that tasted close to the real thing. I had a friend who is not gluten free taste test it, and he declared it perfectly acceptable and would not have known it was gluten free if I had not told him. At 2.99, it is also a reasonable cheap alternative. The only other place I have had gluten free pizza is at Sammy's and it is $13 for a 10-11" pizza, so this is a bargain in comparison.

Review: Finally ate the pizza last nite and it was quite good. Easily worth the $2.99. I would add a bit of salt as the sauce was a bit bland. Easily better than Zpizza and I preferred it also to the frozen Glutino. Not quite as good as the best I've tried at PapaCicio's in Long Beach CA.

I am not taking anything except for the multivitamins that I purchased from the supermarket.

The critic acid and sodium citrate is corn unfortunately and they don’t have to label corn because it’s not part of the top 9 allergen and not mandatory 😭

Yaya, from the JAMA study you refer to: "Taking 60,000 international units (IU) a day of vitamin D for several months has been shown to cause toxicity." No one on this forum is recommending  taking anywhere near that amount. We're talking about 5-10,000IU daily.

"Doses higher than the RDA are sometimes used to treat medical problems such as vitamin D deficiency, but these are given only under the care of a doctor for a specified time frame. Blood levels should be monitored while someone is taking high doses of vitamin D." Quoted from the Healthline article @Yaya linked above...
