I have actually seen this same exact post before, a few months ago.

I have to agree with the waitress on this one. That family should not have walked into a PANCAKE restaurant and DEMAND such service. They can't expect the entire kitchen to stop everything they are doing, putting off other customers orders, just to suit them. Just because a child cant have certain foods doesn't mean the world revolves around him or her. That is something that I have tried to teach my kids. I would also never take my kid into an IHOP for a meal. They put their pancake batter in the eggs, and there is just flour flying everywhere.

We have to understand that this is something our life revolves around. We have studied it, lived it, breathed it, etc. for a long time. We can't expect to walk into a restaurant and give a waitress a crash course in it, and then expect our order to be perfect. Before we go to a restaurant, we need to know somewhat how things work there and what kinds of safe foods they have. We should talk to the manager if we have any questions or concerns. And if we walk into a restaurant and eat a meal there, we should be ready for the chance to be glutened. They didn't force us to come in there, we CHOSE to walk in.

      Yes, but it does say it is wheat free. So, if it does contain gluten, it would must have come into contact with barley or rye somehow which isn't very likely. I think a lot of companies with products like this aren't willing to claim gluten free status because they don't want to got through the expense of testing and/or incur the liability risk if some customer has a reaction from a batch that slipped through and didn't meet the standard. Yet, in reality they are probably safe for most celiacs. Are you super sensitive?

      I did see that one!       Welcome to the forum, @Newhere19, I agree with @Beverage about getting a DNA test for Celiac genetic markers and trying the gluten free diet.   An endoscopy would be able to check for visible damage and allow biopsies to be taken to examine for microscopic damage.   Some people have camera endoscopy.  Would this be a possibility?   Sending encouragement.  You've found a tribe that understands.
