Environkids New Cookies

I was in Whole Foods the other night and I saw new "Animal Cookies" made by Environkids. I am no longer a kid (28), but I must say that I love the gluten free foods made by Environkids. These are called Animal Cookies and they come in all different flavors but the only one that is gluten-free is the Vanilla one (says gluten free on the front of the package). They are great for snacks for your kids (or yourself in my case). Just like animal crackers but they kind of taste like pancakes (ha!). Even my non-celiac fiance scarfs them down. Definitely need to try them and let me know what you think!!! :D

Thanks for letting us know. I haven't seen them yet, but I will look for them next time I'm at Whole Foods. My kids miss animal cookies. I haven't found the MiDel ones either!

God bless,

I found the Mi-Del ones and will watch for the other brand. The Midel ones are good.

Did anyone find/try these yet? I really need you guys to try them. They are that good! Would also be great to use as a substitute for graham cracker crumbs for a pie crust. YUM!

Yep we have a box of them :D

Does anyone have the contact info for environkids products? I wanted to ask them if their stuff is sulfite free as well, but cant find anything on the internet about them other than other companies selling their stuff. Thanks!

Sabrina

I've been able to get the EnviroKids Animal Crackers at our Whole Foods for quite a while, they are good and they do make good pie crusts. I love their rice bars too.

I find the Enviroidz ones much better than the Midel ones, they have a better texture and taste, and they don't get as stale because they are in a bok that is resealable

Well, we have an appointment with a pediatrician who specializes in gastrointestinal issues, and subsequently an appointment with a nutritionist on December 6d. So till then it will be google for the win I guess... I have already found a lot of reassuring alternatives for most of his favorite things, which puts my mind at ease. Now we're just having to see how we will navigate the skitrip in march in an all-in hotel and food on the slopes. And how we will manage offering him warm meals daily as he used to eat at school as we can't manage to cook in time before his soccer practice starts as our commute doesn't allow for it... That kind of thing. But we will manage in the end.   I do feel a lot of sadness for him though. He's so small, will never remember the time before the diagnosis when he didn't have to see (some) food(s) as the enemy and even thought that is comforting in a way, it also is quite sad as a notion... I know we now have the opportunity to help him in the best way and help his health, I do. But I also grieve. I can't help it.

I’m having a terrible time with my employer on this, they put me in an office next to where everyone places food for the department and have reactions when foods containing gluten are present. I’m extreme celiac and have a reaction in some bakery isles at the grocery store. Airborne gluten reactions are real in my world.

Thank you for the update.  At least now you know what you are dealing with.  Is the system similar to that in the UK in that you will have a follow-up with the gastroenterologist where you can ask any questions you have, and also a referral to a nutritionist?

We just had his diagnosis confirmed. The biopsy showed Marsch 3B.

With patients who are experiencing ear ringing and ear pain I first want to make sure there is not any kind of ear infective process verified by your primary care. The next thing that I see as a dentist who treats a lot of temporomandibular joint disorders (TMJ), is that the jaw joint can be having a problem that causes the ringing to happen. My primary care physicians here in Colorado Springs will refer these patients to me for evaluation when they don’t find any source of infection with the ear. We are able to treat with a specific type of mouth splint and get resolution of the ringing and ear pain as we resolve the TMJ problem.  First a visit to your primary care to make sure your inner and outer ear is infection free. And if it is clean, a visit to a dentist who treats TMJ disorders.
