Celiac Reaction To Gram Flour And Rice Flour?

Hi guys,

I need some advice please. I'm gluten intolerant and...

I've recently been experimenting with my breakfast options. I got my hands on some gram flour and rice flour and have been mixing them together, with an egg and water, frying them in sunflower oil to make chippatties/pancakes. Taste great. However, they don't seem to be agreeing with my bowels and I can't understand why.

I have no intolerance to either flour. I'm assuming rice flour is from purely rice and gram flour jut chick peas. Please correct me if i'm wrong. I'm cool with chickpeas and rice in their common form.

It's bugging me, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks. :)

I would read the labels on both. Rice flour should just be rice and gram flour (not graham) should be chickpeas but either could be CC'd in a processing facility by other types of flours.

If there's nothing on the label, try one and see if it bothers you. If not, try the other. Hopefully you'll be able to figure out which it is.

Thanks for the tip Mtndog. Will take the hit and try.

Thank you for your input!  I would really like to know if I have celiac disease because you need make sure you are not getting any cross contamination due to cancer concerns.  I guess I need to start with a knowledgeable Gastroenterologist. Thank you again!

Correct. I’m doing both in the same go though. Thanks for clarifying before I confused someone. I’m doing a colonoscopy for something else and then they added the endoscopy after the test.

It is a biopsy but it's not a colonoscopy, it's an endoscopy.

Well I’m going on the gluten farewell tour so they are about to find out lol. I keep saying biopsy but yeah it’s a scope and stuff. I’m a dummy but luckily my doctor is not.
