Werd Rash On Face, Maybe Dh?

so i really dont know much if anything at all about dh. but i have a rash on my face and its getting bigger, if thats a good word for it.

it started out a few months ago as a red mark near the side of my mouth. then it slowly started spreading out.

its red and flaky. kinda looks like a breakout, but the "spots" aren't all the same size and are kinda flat. i have stopped wearing make-up and i only use my face wash a few times a week now. i use my face lotion before bed, but it has not glutens.

this rash or whatever it is is now above my eye and i just saw more on my eyelid tonight. that part itches. the rest hasnt been itching. when i accidentally scratched it burned!

this is starting to get embarrassing, its red, some days more noticeable than others, and somedays super flaky.

is this what DH is? and can a celiac suddenly get it? i dont cheat on my diet, but every couple of months i might get a cross contamination.

I would have a derm look at the rash. DH is usually little blisters and in most it itches horribly. Not saying it definately isn't DH but since the rash is active and spreading it bears a pro looking at it. A derm can biopsy clear skin next to the rash to see if it is DH.

I have a rash on my face near my mouth and around my eyes. I'm spacing on what it's called, but it's basically a very low grade bacterial infection that's very common in women. I have an antibiotic cream that I use and I suppose if I were using it properly (daily) I could actually cure the rash, but I haven't been very diligent.

Well its been a while since this was posted, but I'm just thinking it doesn't hurt to put some anti-yeast cream on the rash (like Monistat) to see if that cures it and try taking some probiotics. I like Align and Floragen 3.

My 12 year just went to dem and she said what she has was perioral dermatitis. Treating her with two different creams and a 30 day round of strong meds. It is common but can last months to years if not treated. Look at some of the on-line pics and see. I was just looking in this area to see if it there was some relationship between the two or if DH was sometimes missed diagnosed as Perioral Dermatitis. Taylor's dem said steroid creams made it worse. She is not gluten free. Have been waiting around from some testing, etc. Going gluten-free after the holidays.

Test results came back for everything that was tested now. Cholesterol is off the charts high. Not sure if that’s related to celiac, I have no idea how it could be so high. Also tested positive for H pylori  infection… is there a link to celiac and H pylori? Or am I just experiencing symptoms of the H pylori infection?

I’m reading that some sites list a high Immunoglobulin A result for my age above 300, another site says above 356, and other sites are saying above 400. I don’t know what to make of this result 🤷‍♂️

You got some bum steers my friend. I have little confidence that you can trust your test results as differentiating between NCGS and celiac disease. And I think you would be much more likely to have gotten that note you need if you had been diagnosed with celiac disease. But believe me, I understand the predicament you are in with regard to the risks of repeating the gluten challenge. We have heard this story many times on this forum. People experiment with the gluten free diet before getting an official diagnosis and then cannot tolerate the gluten challenge later on when they seek an official diagnosis.
    • Jason Hi
For the upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, they said 7 days of gluten. So I did 8...fast food and Krispy Kreme doughnuts. For the earlier blood test, the younger doctor said I didn't have to. My immune system went down, I was in the bathroom a lot, and as my wife said my brain wasn't braining.

Thanks guys. I just got my results but I don’t know what they mean…  celiac disease reflex panel Immunoglobulin A  normal range 66-433  my results are a score of 358. Is this normal? I have no idea what to make of it…
