I trust you guys more than the restaurant-finders online.

Can y'all help me compile a list of places in the Northern Virginia/D.C. area?

From the search I did on this site, I already have:

Legal Seafoods ... Spartan's

Austin Grill ... Maggiano's

Bonefish Grill ... Essential Grille (Rte 7)

Rustico ... Mike's American Grill

Z Pizza ... Silverado

Noodles & Co. ... Carlyle Grand (Shirlington)

Don Pablos ... Coastal Flats

McCormick & Schmick's... Buffalo Wing Factory (dedicated fryer)

WingN ... Ruth's Chris

Clyde's ... Artie's

Blue Iguana(Fair Lakes) ... Sweetwater

Cashions Eat Place ... Bangkok 54 (Columbia Pike)

Jaleo...Oyamel

Zaytinya...Cafe Atlantico

California Tortilla...lilit cafe

The Tombs...Pho 75 (Rosslyn)...Ted's Montana Grill

and obviously there will be the nationwide chains like Outback and Chili's and Olive Garden, etc.

But, out in California, they are all WHOLE GRAIN crazy and so I think the East Coast will have MORE to offer! I'm excited!

I'm in your new part of the country but not close enough to give info. Going by your list, I've been to Maggiano's and Bonefish in our area and I recommend them. I have multiple allergies and Maggianos will go totally off the menu and make whatever I want, within reasons, as long as they have the ingredients on hand. They're well trained. I have been to Don Pablos in our area and I will no longer go there. I had serious problems with product changes and the staff not initially being aware of it until I really grilled the manager and learned more. Plus they make tortillas in the front. I'm just too sensitive and there are too many opportunities for CC IMHO.

Try joining this support group for DC. they have restaraunt reviews for the area.

pf changs

panera bread

buzz bakery (this is next door to rustico and owned by the same people. their brownie is YUMMY!)

zpizza is decent (they charge an extra $4 for gluten-free and you can only get the small sized pizza...but decent if you're craving pizza)

five guys (no bun obv. and the fries are safe from CC since nothing else is fried)

MOM's organic store on mt vernon ave in alexandria is awesome. they have more and more gluten-free items everytime i go in there.

GlutenFreeManna Rising Star

I don't live in that part of VA, but I'm jealous. DC has TONS of gluten free restaurants. You will also have Whole Foods and Trader Joe's for gluten free grocery shopping.

Hi Scott, i think You misunderstand me i am confirmed seronegative celiac but i still feel shity. I do not eat GLUTEN or Lactose. I am on gluten diet for 1year now and i am still dropping weight and muscle and still feel shitty. I have done every possible test regarding abdomen... Does somebody anybody have similar or same situation....? Thank You

Given that she had a weak positive tTg-IgA blood test for celiac disease, and she gets symptom relief from a gluten-free diet, she could be in a pre-celiac disease stage, and might develop full blown celiac disease (villi damage) if she continues to eat gluten. At this point, even though her biopsy is negative, she may want to stay gluten-free. As @trents mentioned, she likely has NCGS.
    • Scott Adams
Approximately 10x more people have non-celiac gluten sensitivity than have celiac disease, but there isn’t yet a test for NCGS. If your symptoms go away on a gluten-free diet it would likely signal NCGS. Have you had symptom improvement on a gluten-free diet? If so, you may be in the NCGS area. Also, are you eating oats, and have you tried cutting out dairy/casein?
    • trents
Probably NCGS then and there is also the possibility of an H. Pylori infection.

Scott thank you. Finally found the oreos and they are a winner.
