upon further inspection, i found that one of my lotions has oats in it. now i know oats are a concern when you eat them, does the same rule apply when in lotion? the lotion in question is Open Original Shared Link

anybody have any reactions to this lotion? a long shot, i know, but thought i'd ask anyway.

I don't know about that brand of lotion, but I use Aveeno lotion with oatmeal and I do not have a reaction. However I also do not react when I eat certified gluten free oats either. I have a very bad reaction to lotions with wheat germ oil, but no reaction to oats. Some people have a reaction to oatmeal even if it is certified gluten free. So I'm thinking that whether you react to the lotion is a personal thing.

If you are still having symptoms then stop using it, see if the problems resolve and, if you feel the need, give it another try and see if symptoms return.

One of the staff at my dd group home was showing me how itchy and red her (staff) hands were. I grabbed the lotion at their kitchen sink, read the oats on the label and handed it to her. Her sister has been diagnosed as celiac. Now this lotion has an ugly face on it so the gluten free ladies do not use it.

Both my dd and I get dermatitis from gluten or oats in products that we use on our skin. We are gluten free as a whole person.

i am a 'silent sufferer' or just not that sensitive (yet) so i really can't tell. i suppose i'll see how my #'s are looking and go from there. thank you all!

Hepatotoxicity DOES happen with kratom. It happened to my husband. He turned yellow with jaundice and his urine became brown. This was only after taking it three times. I know because I was the one who gave it to him, unfortunately. People should realize that it can and does happen.

No other tests. This was from about 10 years ago, I noticed it when checking through my all bloods to look for patterns.  I will go back to my doctor...

Were there any other tests besides the EMA run for celiac disease? If not, you should request them. At minimum, "total IGA" and "tTG-IGA" should be ordered. A more complete celiac panel would also include the DGP-IGA, DGP-IGG and TTG-IGG. And very importantly, you should not have been reducing gluten consumption in the weeks/months leading up to the testing blood draw.

I'm looking into it. I have several quite low vitamin results which I believe may be from malabsorption. B12, ferritin, folate, vit d all very low. Re-occuring mouth issues, gut issues.
