;)

well, guys I have had enough turkey, so Chebe Pizza tonight with garlic oil, shallots, BACON! and 3 cheeses.and champagne (still celebrating birthday week) why not? I'm alive! I'm alive!

and still baking....

You should have champagne cake. Just one more way to enjoy the good stuff. :D

Last night I made rice sort of successfully. It wasn't burnt or undercooked, or both at the same time! It is mildly overcooked but that is at least progress. So, orange chicken tonight to use it all up because by God we'll eat what I didn't ruin. If I feel super ambitious while I'm in the kitchen I might also make myself some muddy buddies with my coconut butter instead of peanut butter.

We are still in turkey mode -- a 24 pound bird's carcass takes nearly as much fridge space as he did before Turkey Day. So tonight is turkey soup -- only have to leave out the tomato and wide noodles for my share --- and loads of leftover to freeze :)

Rare crusty gluten filled bread for hubby - Schar's french bread for kids. I'll smell hubby's and live vicariously - nope I've never been glutened by smelling something B)

Chocolate Mousse Like Substance for dessert :D

OMG... you said a swear!!!

I postponed my tacos until tomorrow. I wasn't thinking and had a cup of OJ with my orange chicken last night forgetting that I am supposed to be limited my citrus. Oops, half blind. I'll be right as rain by morning but not up to fumbling around the kitchen tonight. I let my husband grill steak.

Hope your eyes are better, Addy.

Turkey and wild rice soup.....and whoohoo!...... that's the last of the blasted turkey.

I "encored" that thing to death.

Our bird is still giving - had one night off to give my men red meat to prevent a major revolt - tonight will be Turkey and Waffles for these California Kids - turkey soup encore for me.

kareng Grand Master

Finishing up the dark meat from our smoked turkey (everyone ate all the white meat). Making a crockpot bean and smoked turkey soup that cleaned up the encore celery & red pepper sticks in the fridge, too. Got this recipe/list of ingredients from Jestgar.

Bean soup with pieces of grilled chicken breast.

The grain-free diet is working, but several food trialings in the past several weeks didn't work out and I took one step back instead of moving forward.

I had some spaghetti sauce laying around my fridge and my husband found poison nuggets at the store so he had his chicken and I had pasta and a salad... with CROUTONS! My first in a year, they were so heavenly. I think I had more croutons than salad in my bowl.

Men had take out.

I had Turkey Soup Trifecta - does that sound better than leftovers of leftovers? Second Encore? Encore Re-do? Leftover 2.0?

ok..I had Turkey Soup again.

Not saying. Everything looks pitiful after whatever love2travel is having :(

Just joking!! Haven't decided yet only just got back in the house after drain problems.

Any time you want to pop by though :) ...

I like encore 2.0

Last night, I tried a new recipe.

Savory Butternut Squash Souffle. It even had bacon in it.

I thought it would be delish. What can go wrong with fresh veggies, savory herbs, eggs, bacon?

BLECH. Not a keeper.

Tonight: Chicken thighs, roasted asparagus, acorn squash

Great tips, Deb. Thanks.  What a pity that they no longer mark items as gluten-free. And it is even more of a shame that you must bring protein bars instead of the crew helping you with your needs. Are you planning on sailing Royal again?

I've not heard of any issues with Primal Kitchen, but it certainly would be worth not using the brand for a while to see if this helps. Many people with celiac disease, especially those who are in the 0-2 year range of their recovery, have additional food intolerance issues which could be temporary. To figure this out you may need to keep a food diary and do an elimination diet over a few months. Some common food intolerance issues are dairy/casein, eggs, corn, oats, and soy. The good news is that after your gut heals (for most people who are 100% gluten-free this will take several months to two years) you may be able to slowly add some these items back into your diet after the damaged villi heal. This article may be helpful:

If you are super sensitive you may want to look for only Certified Gluten-Free Products, as @trents mentioned.

I'm not sure about low calorie, as puddings are typically a dessert, but we do have this category: https://www.celiac.com/celiac-disease/gluten-free-recipes/gluten-free-dessert-recipes-pastries-cakes-cookies-etc/gluten-free-pudding-recipes/ This one might work if you cut back on the sugar:

We are off next week on our 9th RCCL cruise since our diagnoses.  I send an email to special_needs@rccl.com before every cruise letting them know that I am both dairy and gluten free and my husband is gluten free.   Unfortunately, with the new menus they introduced in 2023, they removed the gluten-free designation from each item on the menu.  Instead of having a dedicated person take gluten-free orders, it now falls to your regular wait staff.  Some have been great and some not so good.  We had a great cruise in May and hit it off with our head waiter.  She went the extra mile and ordered gluten free desserts that were not on the menu.  My problem arises from other food allergies.  I am allergic to dairy, beef, and several types of fish.  On those days my husband is a happy camper with a steak or salmon, veggies and a baked potato.  I end up not getting enough protein, so I bring protein bars.  I also bring snacks for the room. As long as the food is commercially prepared and unopened, you can bring it. Often the only dessert choices that are gluten free contain dairy, so I am out of luck.  But, if you are just gluten free, they have plenty of choices.  See the head chef in the Windjammer buffet and he will give you a tour of the gluten-free choices.  They usually have 2 gluten free desserts out at lunch and they are labeled gluten free. We have found that it works best to have assigned dining rather than anytime.  That way the waiters learn from the get go what our needs are, and we don't have to explain ourselves every night.  We also get a private table for 2.  I frankly got sick and tired of tablemates telling me a little bit of gluten would not hurt me.
