Thanks, Ski xxo

As it so happens, I am also making Bacon Jam today!!

I have had that recipe printed off for months and now, it is time.

I am using the slow cooker. Why? because I am lazy.

Later, we will be having

Beef Filets

Roasted sweet potatoes

and some other veggie as yet to be determined.

I still have to bake bread, too--we're out.

How did your bacon jam turn out? Which recipe did you use? I have several but have yet to try every single one.

Leite's culinaria

It's still cooking and it's filling the house with a glorious aroma. :)

It smells heavenly -- still bubbling in the crock.

Got a beautiful fresh Christmas tree this morning - fresh pine and bacon jam wafting together is quite nice :)

Several? More to try :)

I used the one a few pages back -- think it was Tuesday or Wednesday.

bacon, onion, garlic, coffee, vinegar, brown sugar and maple syrup

Yes - mine's still bubbling at nearly four hours...think I'll go for a walk before it needs to be finished and jarred.

I love the LC one. They have some of my favourite recipes ever.

L2T is right again -- shoulda made a triple batch -- only went for a double today -- might add a touch of bourbon next time too!

All my guys are beyond happy with me this evening with just a taste - tomorrow they'll have some with breakfast and be eternally grateful to you :)

Hala Apprentice

Think I'm gonna experiment and make a vegetarian shepherd's pie type thing with lentils and a sweet potato mash topping :)

I made bread yesterday, too so we slathered some on --very tasty!!

and yes, I was very disappointed the recipe only yielded 2 cups.( It says yields 3. cups--nope )

Next time, double or triple batch...and bourbon!

I'm gonna need a bigger slow cooker.....

Nor do I except I bought some nice fresh green beans yesterday and that'll be the veggie...now to figure out what else I want to go with them.

Last night I made pizza using Bette Hagman's pizza crust recipe.

Celiac Mindwarp Community Regular

Mr Mindwarp made venison stew. No idea what is in it but I can't wait.

Early tea then of to see the Bond movie, 1st night out without kids since about September :o

That pizza crust is just delicious, Sylvia!

Tonight, we're having chicken thighs--not sure how I will prepare them yet, but I made Risotto Milanese last night (instead of sweet potatoes) and that encore should be tasty. And some sauteed baby spinach.

The bacon jam, spread on buttered Bette Hagman's 4 flour bread(makes crazy- good toast)--just wickedly good this morning.

Glad I got you to try that recipe!!! And I got my son-in-law in Denver making it, too, for my celiac daughter! I may just abandon any urge to try any more new pizza crust recipes. And it's just amazing how well my new pizza pan works (I'm falling in love with USA Pans). :)

I love love love my USA bread pan and the pizza pan, too! Good recipes + good pans = good food.

That's the extent of my math capabilities. The End.

That would be awesome! and then, we should also get kickbacks from Nuts.com, Culturelle, Country Life vitamins, Enjoy Life Chips, etc.....that some of us rave about, but then , it would be a serious conflict of interest...and then, we could not post here anymore and then, we would be sad. :(...and we can't have sadness, because well, that's no fun.. The End

As we have been carnivores as of late tonight is Caesar Salad night. I am making delicious croutons from bagels (I like larger chunks with lots of nooks and crannies) and making the dressing from scratch as I always do.

Today I am making homemade chorizo sausage to freeze. I am also making a batch of sweet and spicy mustard. Oh, yes. And roasted poblano and corn soup. This gives me such pleasure and joy. :)

......and gives us the same--- just to read it, Lovey.

As far as I know, miso paste is gluten-free and should be added to the Safe List.  And, shouldn't soy sauce be on the Forbidden list?

@PlanetJanet, Sorry to hear about your back pain.  I have three crushed vertebrae myself.  I found that a combination of Thiamine, Cobalamin and Pyridoxine (all water soluble B vitamins) work effectively for my back pain.  This combination really works without the side effects of prescription and over-the-counter pain meds.  I hope you will give them a try. Here are articles on these vitamins and pain relief... Mechanisms of action of vitamin B1 (thiamine), B6 (pyridoxine), and B12 (cobalamin) in pain: a narrative review https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35156556/ And... Role of B vitamins, thiamine, pyridoxine, and cyanocobalamin in back pain and other musculoskeletal conditions: a narrative review https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33865694/

Here is the info from their website. If you don't trust them, you may find products that are labelled "gluten-free," but I don't see any reason to believe there is any gluten in them. Hi, trents, Thanks for responding! One book I read is called, Doing Harm, by Maya Dusenbery.  She has wonderful perspective and insight, and it's all research-based.  It's about how women can't get treated.  Everyone should read this!  I wouldn't mind reading it again, even.  She believes that women are so busy taking care of families, working, etc., that we are more likely to ignore our pain and symptoms for longer.  Men have women bugging them to go to the doctor.  Women don't have anyone telling us that.  We don't have time to go.  Providers think we are over-emotional, histrionic, depressed, have low tolerance to pain...Men get prescribed opioids for the same symptoms women are prescribed anti-depressants.  My car crash in January 2020 made going to the doctor a full-time job.  I grew up with 2 rough and tumble brothers, played outside, climbed trees.  I was tough and strong, pain didn't bother me, I knew it would heal.  But do you think I could get treated for back pain--as a woman?  I am so familiar now with the brush-offs, the blank looks, the, "Take your Ibuprofen," the insinuation that I am just over-reacting, trying to get attention, or even, "Drug Seeking."  Took almost 2 years, but what was happening was Degenerative Sacroiliitis.  I couldn't walk right, my gait was off, effected my entire spine because gait was off.  I had braced myself with my legs in a front-impact, slightly head-on crash with someone who made a left turn in front of me from the opposite direction.  I finally had SI Joint Fusion surgery, both sides.  It's not a cure. I have given up on trying to get properly treated.  There is so much pain with these spine issues caused by bad gait:  scoliosis, lithesis, arthropathy, bulged disc, Tarlov cysts.  And I can't take anything because of my bad tummy. Not that I would ever hurt anyone, but I can relate to Luis Mangione who couldn't get treated for his back injury. I feel so alone.
