Yes, everyone's pinkies are shorter than the other fingers,  but if you look at the picture, see how they come up halfway of the middle segment.?

I guess most people's (the ones I have examined anyway--lol)  come up to the first segment.

Now, I am probably going to start staring at people's fingers and getting asked "what the hell are YOU looking at?"

I checked my boys this morning...we all have below the line or shorter -- thinking I may be checking everyone I meet for a bit --- especially the over 70 never been sick a day in their life crowd!

I'm making chicken tacos with some of the gluten-free taco sauce I picked up at Sprouts Farmers Market Saturday.  I've only had my Celiac diagnosis for a week, so I'm still working out the gluten-free cooking and such.  I love cooking, though, so I don't think it will be too hard.  I've got some gluten-free brown rice tortillas, and I'll try the taco meat in a burrito style.

I think I'll be coming here frequently to get some gluten-free recipe ideas.

Welcome Debra!

Always great to have another join this thread :)

I have a pumpkin and red lentil soup ready to go in the slow cooker.

Rerun here.  Grilled Deitz and Watson Bratwurst, spuds and salad.

I made hummus with roasted red peppers and chick peas tonight.  I soaked and cooked the beans myself, my Irish griller toasted the red peppers. no cans involved.   I feel like I deserve a cape or crown or something.

Tomorrow: Chickpea curry with rice :)

Pizza with potato, fontina and white truffle oil. It is so simple, but tastes so ridiculously good.

I'll be traveling to see my Mom, family and a few friends in New England for several days.

Thank God the peeps I will be staying with are all G F :D Having lunch with my friend and fellow c.comer, Gemini on Sunday.

My first solo trip since 2007 (when things went horribly

wrong) and I am very excited .The hubs has a well-stocked fridge and can handle himself just fine.

He will not miss me too much as Saratoga Race course opens this week and the golf course calls his name often.

Stay well, everyone!!. I am going to the land where there is no wifi (mom stubbornly refuses to become attached to a laptop)

so, I'll see you when I get home. Be good.

xx

It is Comic-Con Week around here -- my 18 year old graphic novelist's 13th Con!  I'll be going for one day -- I've missed the past three years do to my silly body -- might need to borrow Mr. Freeze's suit to make it thru the heat of The Hall -- been along time since the boys and I had the run of the place with no lines or crowds!!

Dinner last night was steak and cauliflower fried rice as the other son delayed starting the crock pot chili so they got to share my dinner -- so chili and cornbread tonight.

Tomorrow is Mom's Birthday Party here -- thinking I'm going to change my super strawberry cake to a peach version....should be interesting....the strawberry cakes started on her 80th two years ago -- with an adorable "Betty Boop" salt/pepper set as cake decor as she was born the same year as Betty was introduced and Mom looks strikingly like Betty ;)  Hmmmm what to decorate the peach colored cake with is the question.

My family and friends often feel bad for me because I can't eat what I serve them....tonight the house smelled great from the Chicken Chili the kid had brewing...so I dumped two left over containers on the plate for me.....mine looked so pretty I had to snap a photo and share on the funny pages...thought I'd show you guys too...I really don't miss too much....except that darn potato chip crunch ;)

Thanks for the Wonder Woman!!!!

Wish we were neighbors so I could bring you some mangoes to put on top of that cake, but I'm thinking Mom will love to stick to the tradition of Betty Boop, no matter the flavor of the cake.

Going with a Princess theme for Mom...she loves following the Royals....so I see a sparkly crown along with a "Princess Jacqueline of Cambridge" theme...thinking I'll get a little smile with a bit of eye twinkle from her -- been a very tough year...I am looking forward to that twinkly smile.

Dad's sponsoring top quality steak :)

Lots of veggies and a beautiful salad -- Mom's favs.

Saw a nice recipe for figs and brie in tortillas on FB....I'll try to make those for starters if time permits.

Drive Safe Irish!!!

We were going to have tacos, but I had a rough day so the child had leftovers and I had wine.  Tacos for tomorrow night now.

I'm posting early today, because I have a feeling my day is going to get crazy.  My husband is going to grill some steaks, and I'm going to do baked potatoes, using my spin on this recipe-http://www.food.com/recipe/sliced-baked-potatoes-58121, along with some steamed spinach.

Thai griled beef lettuce wraps. The marinade is brilliant - lots of tamarind, lime, etc. I made Nuoc Cham and will serve with julienned carrots and vermicelli.

The other day I made Caribbean spicy shrimp with pasta. Am loving coking from so many cultures and ethnic groups.

Peach Cake turned out great...

BRM Vanilla Cake mix

4 Eggs

1/2 cup Oil

4 peaches -- pureed

Mix well then I stirred in by hand another two peaches - chopped.

Butter/Cream Cheese Frosting -- next time I'll be adding peach puree to the frosting...I ran out of ripe peaches...so total peaches needed would be 8

added three drops yellow and one drop red food color to both the cake and frosting to brighten the peach color...but not necessary if you are avoiding food dyes

Tonight is either roast chicken or chicken enchiladas...not sure which yet.

Scallion sounds right, 6 to 8 inches, skinny and green with a small white bulb, great in stir fry.

Gamon steak, peas, egg, new potatoes, mushrooms.

At home tonight, but last few days have been dinner on the beach and late nights for kids. Trying for an early night, but it is mighty warm here now....

That peach cake sounds wonderful. I checked and I can totally do BRM vanilla cake mix. There are really good natural alternatives to food dyes if someone really cares what color the cake comes out. I'm sure it would be perfectly delicious no matter what color it is though. :)

I've got a sick husband today so I'm not sure what I'm doing for dinner. I may just be worrying about me which will probably turn into a burger and a veggie. I probably sound like a broken record with that, but hey... it's quick and easy beef. Which means quick and easy iron. Maybe if I find my inner spunk I'll work up to a meatloaf. Either way, I will be on the phone with the doctor before I'm supposed to take my afternoon iron pill and with any luck since my infusions are approved I'll not have to take it. Which means I'll be able to enjoy my dinner! :D

GottaSki Mentor

Roller Coaster ride of a day today....we say final farewell to a good friend that lost his battle with cancer last week....going to be very hard on hubs and his buds ....

Then I do a quick change into comic con attire and hop the trolley to meet my son.....I have missed the past few years due to poor health .... so I am very excited...if there is wifi at the Convention Cntr I'll likely be online while waiting in lines...otherwise I'll catch you all tomorrow.

Oh dinner will be salmon jerky....z-noodles with cilantro sauce and almonds to munch on as needed.

Ok Ty i have a dermatologist so I’ll also discuss this with her as well as the new GI when I get in ty again so very much!!! Hope I get answers soon I’m sick of being sick every single day not even able to get my normal task done I feel so horrible. Appreciate all the info!

There is also something called "seronegative celiac disease" in which there is damage to the villous lining of the small bowel but no celiac antibodies are produced by the immune system. It's not very common and there can be numerous causes including infections, some medications and even some nongluten foods.  If you have dermatitis herpetiformis, that is proof positive you have celiac disease since there is no other known cause for it. If you get it biopsied during an outbreak it can be used to establish a diagnosis of celiac disease, therefore. But not every dermatologist knows how to biopsy dermatitis herpetiformis correctly and it can be difficult to get an appointment with one on short notice.

Ty very helpful I’m in the process of getting in with a new gI doctor and will ask more about all that then and yes the rash is exactly like that. I have a half cousin with celiac but that’s it in my whole family and idk if that matters as I see it is hereditary and others say the the only in the family with it. Either way this was very much appreciated ty again.

My first post includes the blood test report done by the second doctor.  They told me to take two Naproxen tablets per day.  Absolutely worthless but I'm doing it.  I get to visit the doctor again in two weeks.  These doctors are worthless.  I had to clue them in to the fact that they used to treat me for fibromyalgia 15 years ago with vicodin until some political stooge had it removed from the market.  Then I found out about my grandchild with celiac so I removed gluten from my diet and got better.  (I had hashimoto's then and still do).  They don't read my medical record, or they don't comprehend it.  Either case they're worthless turds with no answers that are helpful.
