Experience With Buca De Beppo?

I've had good gluten-free experiences at Mangiano's and some smaller family owned pasta places (Ellensburg Pasta Co. for one) but haven't been to Buca before. Didn't think I would ever go there but apparently they have a gluten-free menu and I'm going there for a client thank-you lunch tomorrow. (My client went online to research for me - hooray for understanding non-gluten-free people!)

I'm about to call and talk to the manager or chef, so I'll report back after the lunch. I guess I could just have a salad if I need to...

I called the restaurant (when they weren't busy) and asked to speak to someone about allergies. The woman asked what and I said celiac/gluten and she said "Me too!"

The don't serve gluten-free pasta but they are planning to do so in the future. That's ok because I'm dieting and don't need pasta anyway. She went over which chicken and fish dishes were ok, which sauces too. Told me that they give extra veggies to replace the pasta, which is great.

She said that the servers were educated and will take care of me. Wish me luck!

Wow, that is great to know! I used to love their food before I was diagnosed, but have not been back since. I love Maggiano's too! Good luck, and let us know how it goes!

I just realized that I spelled it wrong ...should be Buca di Beppo!

No other tests. This was from about 10 years ago, I noticed it when checking through my all bloods to look for patterns.  I will go back to my doctor...

Were there any other tests besides the EMA run for celiac disease? If not, you should request them. At minimum, "total IGA" and "tTG-IGA" should be ordered. A more complete celiac panel would also include the DGP-IGA, DGP-IGG and TTG-IGG. And very importantly, you should not have been reducing gluten consumption in the weeks/months leading up to the testing blood draw.

I'm looking into it. I have several quite low vitamin results which I believe may be from malabsorption. B12, ferritin, folate, vit d all very low. Re-occuring mouth issues, gut issues.

Have you been diagnosed with celiac disease or are you looking into it?

Thank you. There is no reference range mentioned unfortunately.
