Hi! We live near Tulsa. My 9 year old was diagnosed last April by Dr. Donovan - the ONLY pediatric GI in Tulsa. He is a very nice man but we're not meshing and he is definitely NOT a celiac specialist. Does anyone know of a pediatric celiac specialist near Oklahoma? We're trying out another pediatric GI in OKC next week, but his bio doesn't even mention celiac and I'm at the point I want to take her to someone that eats, breathes, and sleeps celiac. The only pediatric specialists I'm finding are in San Diego, Chicago, New York and Philly. Any additional info would be helpful.

Thanks so much!

Dr. Donovan is the only peds GI in Tulsa. What kinds of problems are you having? What are you needing? Monitoring, diet advice?

I love Dr. Marilyn Steele at the OU children's medical center. I am sure there are other good GI ped doctor's at that center. Dr. Steele and her nurses took such amazing care of my son, does not treat me like I am crazy, listens to the mom, and she is awesome.

We live in SE Kansas, and we drive to see her. I was not a fan of Dr. DaShawn who is Donovan's partner. I promise you she is worth the wait and the drive. good luck, She is your a great choice!

I am asking for my six year old. It took us four months to figure out what was going on- a brand of extra virgin olive oil we were using for every meal. We changed the brand she instantly got better- from Gi to nephropathy to joint pain, to tinnitus to dry eyes. You name a symptom and she has it when glutened, so it's difficult to second guess when it's all so obvious. Anyway, two months later, i bought another bottle of the same brand, and the olive oil was sourced form 5 different countries, as opposed to one. It took exactly a month for her symptom to start all over again. And sure enough it was the oil! I am sorta getting tired of trying to get these "healthy" oils glutening her. Does anyone have any thought on cooking oils that they think for sure are not contaminated, or any certified glutenfee brands they suggest? I'd appreciate. At this point, I just need any oil that's free of contamination- healthy or otherwise. Healthier is better. But i'll tkae anything. Thanks

@CeliacPsycho246, You might try cutting out dairy.  Some of us react to Casein, the protein in dairy, the same as to gluten.
