I took my daughter out to eat as a special treat and we tried the Longhorn in Marlboro Ma. I asked the waitress all the usual ? ask for a boiled hotdog with no bread on her plate plus mashed potatoes which they told me was real potaotes not instant. a few minutes after ordering the Kitchen manager came out and asked if someone had celiac disease i told him about my DD and he said he would make sure personally that all items touching her food would be cleaned before cooking and that he would make sure nothing else came in contact with it. my DD got her lunch and she didn' tlike the potatoes so the kitchen manager asked how he could make her happy and would she like ice cream i said she can only have sherbert after telling her they do not carry sherbert he said ill be right back well he came back with a big bowl of sherbert ice cream !!! he had run next door to the supermarket and bought my DD sherbert. They did a beyond wonderful job that day and i hope if any of you are in this area you could feel comfortable eating there. it was so nice for my DD to feel important instead of me always saying no you can't have that THANK YOU LONGHORN!!!!!

Mom,

Make sure you write the corporate office and tell them about the wonderful experience.

As a society, we always yell and scream about bad experiences but we never tell the bosses when an exceptional one comes our way!

Very nice! I had about the same kind of treament at The Outback in Methuen, MA. They were very helpful and the manager made sure my food was prepared properly. There are some great restaurants out there that go the extra mile.

By the way, I went to Bugaboo Creek and explained the situation. I reacted and went back a couple of weeks later. Reacted again. I now avoid Bugaboo Creek. Even though I order everything without the odd spices, there must be someting they are doing that I react to. Anyone else have that situation?

before we left i asked to speak to the store manager and told them about my experience. I also e-mailed the corporate office and told them. I always try to send a compliment when its needed I agree people complain to much so when there is a chance to send a compliment i always do

That is wonderful, thanks for sharing! I agree, we should always send a note or email when someone goes out of their way like that.

You know I have been nervous about visiting my local Longhorn since they don't really offer a gluten-free menu, I may rethink that and visit them. Maybe I will have a great experience as you and your daughter!! :D

We have had those same kind of experiences at our Longhorn's. It is so nice to be able to eat out comfortably.

I was also told I had IBS years ago like literally it's just IBS the docter said I've had lots of  the symptoms you say there plus much more but I'm convinced it's not just IBS although I feel very sorry for people who get told this too because IBS is a real problem for people too it's awfull how much ignorance is around in the world these days from docters try the elimination diet like I did gluten free I also did lactose because it was still bothering me I found a real big change I've read some members here say  it can be quite hard to get a diagnosis and help but there is plenty of self help here it's not wrong to self diagnose if you find that it truly is a Life changer be true to your own needs and ask people already suffering for advise it's about your quality of life now and for future this us were I'm heading if I have no luck with docters I will have luck helping myself 🤗

Thankyou for that information yes I totally relate to that it's a very good read and I've felt like that too to the point were going out for dinner was aniexty before I even left home and it's funny her name is jean because that was my grandma's name and I also  believe she  coeliac undiagnosed because I look back now and she couldn't tolerate most things like me unfortunately she got bowel cancer it's such a shame it's so unrecognised by the medical profession and by people too who do t suffer it because it can be very hard living with it so thankyou so much for this

Ichthus is the Greek word (using English letters) for fish. The letters in the actual Greek word form an acronym that come from the first letters in the Greek words for "Jesus", "God's Son," "Savior".   Now, back to your family's denial of your celiac disease, I think you can relate to this:
