My daughter's school group will be visiting Washington D.C. She has celiac. They will be eating at....

-Capitol Visitor's Center Restaurant

-Eat @ National Place food court

-International Trade Center/Ronald Reagan Building food court

-Pentagon City Shopping Mall food court

-McDonald's (at the Space Center I believe)

-Hard Rock Cafe at 999 E Street, NW

-King Street Blues at 1648 Crystal Square in Arlington

Can anyone help us with safe gluten-free choices at these restaurants?

If I were you I would call every one of those places and ask specifically about gluten-free, so your dd can be prepared on what to order when she gets there. The only one of those places I've eaten at is Pentagon City mall. The last time I was there I got a Subway salad -- basically a sub but in a salad bowl. I didn't have any problems with it although I was annoyed that they only give you a teeny packet of dressing and then you have to pay for an extra one! sheesh...

I suggest you join this Yahoo group, DC celiacs. They have an online listing for gluten-free places to eat with reviews. If you post a message to the Yahoo group there will probably be someone who has eaten at some of those places and can help too.

I have been using the eye drops every hour and at night the gel drops as well as the heating mask. I have been traveling and kind of slowed on this routine, but it seems to be back a bit more now that I'm back at work (on the computer).  It seems strange to me that I would start getting this after a couple of months into the gluten free diet. Between this, the muscle twitches, the anxiety... I am quite overwhelmed. I can't find much on people whose eyes start getting dry AFTER gluten free.

Welcome to the forum, @warren031945! Use the search tool in the upper right corner of this forum page to find articles addressing your needs. I know there have been articles done on celiac.com dealing with the question of gluten-free cheeses and candies. Whether or not you could find something already put together in one place that is gluten free is another question, however.
