Just wanted you all to know that with all of your good advice I was able to stand up to my doc and ask to see a gi specialist. I had the appointment yesterday.Even though I have my paperwork blood and biopsy results from March 10 the doc wants to do it all over due to my current issues. My hormone levels all came back normal and as expected my blood results were sent from the lab flagged this morning. My blood levels from yesterday were HGB 7 HCT 25 and MCV 67. Sadly I was happy to hear that it was this low....it justifies my weakness. The issue I am still having is bleeding. I started the Premarin Yesterday morning and exprienced very heavy bleeding yesterday and all night. I took a second pill tis morning. When will it stop? The dose is 1.25.When should I call my doc and ask her for another solution? The gi doc does have a sense of urgency which makes me feel like I have finally gotten to the right place. And if not for your help I could have never said that the care I was recieving was unacceptable. Thank you all for the encouragement.

Glad you were able to start addressing your problems. Anemia is just so exhausting!

(No suggestions on the premarin; sorry... did you ask when it should take effect?)

when I worked in labs it was not unusual to find a unexpected low hemoglobin. The Drs sometimes miss this. One time I noticed a thin looking blood sample and did the hemoglobin even tho it had not been ordered. I called the Dr and it turned out to be his mother-in-law, he was very grateful.

I searched for 'premarin bleeding' and got lots of websites. If you have not done so immediately call your DR as the sites advise. You can't afford to loose more blood.

Hi im from northern europe are blood type 0+ have celiac with code K900 on the paper from doctor, have low vitamin D and b12 and folate, zinc, manganese and high copper it say in test. The best food i have eaten for now is LCHF, i tried paleo but i was missing the dairy. And i love the cream in sauces. LCHF is good choice there is no grains in the dishes. It's completly gluten free lifestyle i say. Because i feel good to eat it.

@Rogol72, dermatitis herpetiformis occurs in a minority of celiac patients and if the OP hasn't developed it yet I doubt it will show up in the future. I think it unwise to use a scare tactic that probably won't materialize in the OP's experience. It has a good chance of backfiring and having the opposite effect.

Hi @trents, You're correct. The OP mentioned fatigue and vitamin deficiencies as the only symptoms at the time of diagnosis. Since the family are not taking him/her seriously and find them to be too fussy, I suggested showing them pictures of dermatitis herpetiformis as one of the consequences of not taking the gluten-free diet seriously ... would make life easier for him/her, and the family might begin to take his/her strict gluten-free diet more seriously. A picture says a thousand words and the shock factor of dermatitis herpetiformis blisters might have the desired effect. The OP did say ... "How do you deal with people close to you who just refuse to understand? Are there any resources anyone could recommend for families that are short and easy to read?".  @sillyyak52, It might also help mentioning to your family that Coeliac Disease is genetic and runs in families. Any one of them could develop it in the future if they have the HLA DQ 2.5 gene. Here's a Mayo Clinic study calling for screening of family members of Coeliacs ... https://newsnetwork.mayoclinic.org/discussion/mayo-clinic-minute-celiac-disease-screening-for-family-members/ https://newsnetwork.mayoclinic.org/discussion/mayo-clinic-study-calls-for-screening-of-family-members-of-celiac-disease-patients/ I got glutened a few months ago because I missed the may contains statement on a tub of red pesto. It was my own fault but it happens.
