High Folic Acid Levels?

All my other levels were normal, except this one. I don't take vitamins and as far as i know, what i'm eating won't affect it... so how? It came back >20 when normal is >6.... If someone could explain (as my searching has found nothing), it would be appriciated.

Are you taking sublingual B12? If not you might want to even if your blood tests for B12 are showing in the normal range. It can take awhile after we stop being able to utilize B12 from our diet for the levels to drop in the blood. Looking at previous B12 levels from older tests can be helpful in seeing the drop if you have them to look at.

High folic acid levels can also mean a vitamin B12 deficiency. Body cells need vitamin B12 to use folic acid. So if vitamin B12 levels are very low, folic acid cannot be used by the cells, and high levels of it may build up in the blood. But a folic acid test is not a reliable way to test for a vitamin B12 deficiency.

Same here! The doctor didn't even mention it, just said "your iron is a little low." all my iron/anemia labs were way out of whack. Mine also said >20. I'd live to hear more of your story!

      3 year old gluten intolerance?

      She has had problems with constipation, they actually prescribed miralax for her but I have changed some other things about her diet that seemed to have helped, so I never gave it to her..but she still doesn’t always go daily

      3 year old gluten intolerance?

      @Nicbent35, are there any other symptoms besides altered mood when your daughter gets "glutened"? Behavior like that in children often belies physical discomfort of some kind. Does she complain of stomach aches? Is she constipated?

      3 year old gluten intolerance?

      Well I had a moment yesterday morning where I accidentally gave her gluten. She wanted what I was eating and I forgot and let her have a few bites of toast. It was a really bad night last night with her behavior. Will a few bites of bread influence their behavior that much or could it just be a coincidence?

Whenever I eat out I take GliadinX (a sponsor here), but of course, the best option would be to avoid eating out.
