Hello :)

My cute boyfriend is taking me to Yosemite next week and we will be staying in Mariposa, Mammoth - and Tahoe on the way.

Does anyone have any experience with these places that they could share? I'd love any info you could offer! :)

We'll have a cooler with us - but I'm not sure if the rooms will have kitchens or not. Probably not

Please help :)

Thanks!!

- Michelle

Hey Michelle -

I think I saw it here but someone else posted recently that Yosemite is *very* accomodating about gluten free. Aparantly, you can contact any of the restaurants ahead of time to check but they have some gluten free meals and I think you can even buy Amy's frozen meals at their stores, etc. If I find the post, I'll give you a link.

Wish I could come visit you! It would be fun to meet!

Thanks Steph! :) I wish I could meet you too! :)

Okay, talked to boyfriend - looks like there will be no microwave in the room. That sucks because I love Amy's stuff!

*AND* we will be going to San Francisco on the way instead of Tahoe. Any suggestions there?

Thanks!!

Mammoth's got a sushi place near the movie theater's that has sushi that's safe (minus the soy sauce, of course). And they've got a regular grocery store and all that...

In SF you have to go to Roys, I don't think you even need to call ahead because they are so accomidating. ONe time they kept bringing out free appetizers until they found one that I could eat (strawberries). Google Roys san francisco and call ahead because it is a very busy restaruant.

Michelle,

I am going to Yosemite next week also! They will have plently of gluten free food available at the Yosemite Lodge (we will be there Monday for dinner), at Curry Village Buffet (we are planning on Tuesday for dinner) and then we are planning lunch at the Food Court on Wednesday. They like to know about a day ahead of time where you will eat, so thay can have lots of gluten-free choices for you. I am so excited about the stay. I am waiting for a return phone call from the head food service manager at Curry Village and I will tell him that more gluten-free people will be heading there way! I'll also ask if I can pass on the phone numbers to you, so you can talk with them directly.

God bless,

Mariann

i went to Yosemite last summer..there was this deli and they gave me turkey slices with a salad and chips

are you going to Lake Tahoe? If so, theres like a million restaurants, especially on the strip, so its easy to find gluten-free food there too.

Yosemite is amazing, I was just there for one day. A little advice, don't go on the hiking trails, i went on the 1 mile hiking trail and it was straight uphill the whole time.. =( took a hour..there aren't as many waterfalls in yosemite as i hear there were decades ago. a lot of them dried up but its an awesome place to visit..

I did a gluten challenge. I ate bread yesterday. I immediately felt horrid. Depressed, fearful, angry.  I also had the weirdest night terrors and "day terrors" (delusions). They were do awful, that I am still terrified. How do gluten impact your dreams?

Thanks so much for replying!  No I haven't been limiting gluten prior to this test, I didn't know the Dr even tested for it until I got my results. These were the only celiac related pathology that was tested for. I am seeing my Dr on Monday so hopefully she can shed some more light!

New here as well lots of things learning I’ve discovered lots of foods have sneaky gluten so be mindful how is it going?? I have issues when I do cocktails 🍸 I don’t know if it is gluten free or not but get horrible side effects and so many others ooh well we are all learning how to cope with this….

Thanks a lot! I will search that too. I also talked to another doctor and she assured me there is no gluten in this type of antibiotics. Anyway i started the administration of Augmentin on my girl this evening. I hope there will be no problems.

Good afternoon, I don’t know if anyone here has ever tried Braswell’s products like their marmalades or jellies? Are they gluten-free? On the ingredients says “cane sugar, cherries (cherries, cane sugar), strawberries, corn syrup, pectin and citric acid. That ingredient list is from their berry preserve bottle. Most of them say the same for ingredients, but I’m not sure if it is okay to consume.
