I have searched all over the forum because I remember someone asking about gluten-free beer, but I can't find it. So I'll start a new thread.

In the gluten free mall update, there is an article (#7) in the Celiac disease in the media section. It talks about pizza and beer parties and how the celiac can't participate anymore, until now.

There is a whole list of gluten-free beers and how to order them. On the second page of the article is a "guide to Gluten free beers" along with a guide to gluten-free italian party foods, like pizza, pasta, ect.

Thought some of you would be interested. :) Here's the link

For those of you who are tempted to believe that regul;ar beer is gluten-free, here's what a beer expert said recently. Same site.

Hi Richard,

Also a great article. I havn't had any beer almost 2 years because I was afraid of it. :( I have also heard some people say that regular beer is okay because the gluten protien is "cooked" out. Never believed it. <_<

Hi Jenvan,

Sorry, I think I wrote the link wrong. It is in the gluten free mall update that you get in your email. scroll to the bottom and click on 'celiac disease in the media'

I think the link is...

Okay... I am having a problem. I live in Wisconsin and want to try the Honey Passover Beer - Ramapo Valley Brewery, USA . The Baird's Tale website gives you the areas you can purchase the beer. Does anyone know how I can go about getting the Ramapo Valley beer? I tried to email them but they didn't respond. That was about 2 weeks ago. I put a call into them too. In the meanwhile... does anyone know where abouts I can find this????

THANK YOU!

Hi Jams,

Well, I googled it and this is what I got...

143 Rt. 59 Building 6

Hiburn N.Y. 10931

(845) 369-7827

Fax (845) 368-1751

I hope that helps. :)

If it's any good, please let us all know. Also curious about the price, since the gluten-free beers seem to be very costly to order. <_<

Good luck

Wendy

Thanks Wendy!

I left a message again yesterday. I keep getting voice mail when I call. The Baird's Tale is a little too full bodied for me. I liked Miller Lite. (I'm from Wisconsin!) Hopefully I'll get them sooner or later!

Welcome to the forum, @Bebee, Yes, Celiac Disease has genetic commonalities with MS, hypothyroidism, arthritis, Reynaud, and rosacea.   Usually a gluten challenge is done before endoscopy with biopsies taken,  however I would not recommend a gluten challenge before endoscopy with biopsies for you since you have been gluten free for so long and have so many concurrent autoimmune diseases.   You can still have the endoscopy with biopsy samples taken now.  After several months with dietary changes, you can have another to compare results and check that intestinal health has improved.   You can get a genetic test for Celiac disease which shares genetics with other autoimmune diseases that you have.  Eating gluten is unnecessary for genetic tests. For the rosacea, get checked for SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth) that could be causing gastrointestinal symptoms as well as causing skin issues.  Our skin is a reflection of our gastrointestinal health.     Following the Autoimmune Protocol Diet has been helpful in keeping my own rosecea, eczema, and dermatitis herpetiformis and other autoimmune diseases in check.   Be sure to be checked for nutritional deficiencies that occur easily in gluten free and dairy free diets. Keep us posted on your progress! References: Clustering of autoimmune diseases in patients with rosacea https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/26830864/ And... I am new here, I have been diagnosed with Microscopic Colitis (Lymphatic) years ago and have been gluten-free, DF since, but I still can have occasional bouts of diarrhea (still trying to figure that out).  I also have MS, Hypothyroid, Arthritis, Reynaud's and my rosacea has been acting up lately.  What treatment is suggested to help with rosacea?  I would like to know too if there is a test for celiac if you have been gluten-free?   Thank you, Barb

Well, that's interesting. I am lactose intolerant and have been managing that for years. I'd be interested in seeing if that changes once I feel better from not eating gluten (one thing at a time for now, though). Helpful to hear about the avenin. I will do some digging and pose that to the dietitian. Grateful for your feedback.
