Hi all! I've had issues as far as stomach pain and bloating for about a year. I went to my doctor and he sent me for bloodwork to test for celiac disease. I have yet to get my results back but have been eating gluten free for the last few days. I feel great. I am no longer bloating after every meal. Is it possible this is all in my head? Does anyone know of any good websites to get ideas for gluten free foods to eat? Its very hard to find foods to eat when I'm working.

um, you're on one! :)

Look at the Gluten Free Mall (scroll up--see it under the banner?).

and there are many gluten-free foods in your grocery stores!

If you feel better, what makes you think it's all in your head?

Read this thread for some ideas --see if helps a little:

and check under the recipes and cooking sections on the site.

and....Welcome to the Forum. :)

Nope, it's not in your head. :)

As well as Gluten-free Mall there are lots of lunch foods that are naturally gluten-free. Nuts, fresh or dried fruit, hard boiled eggs, and sliced vegetables are in my lunch bag most days. Cheese and yogurt are good too if you tolerate dairy, and most lunch meat is gluten-free. Eat it with a rice cake or corn tortilla. Yoplait has gluten-free on the label! Many chips are gluten-free if you eat that sort of thing, and my grocery store has the little round rice crackers.

Very helpful. Oh yes, I am quite fastidious about not falling off the diet. It's just that the list of things I must add to the restrictions seems to grow.

I know this post is old but was wondering if you ever resolved this. My son is in the same situation. Villi healed but gastritis / duodenitis remain and calprotectin elevated. Now testing for crohns which I am freaking out about.

I did a little research and one kind of aphthous ulcer (aka, canker sore) is the Herpetiform canker sore. It is well-known that celiac disease can cause a skin rash known as herpetiformis dermatitis. I can't help but wonder if there is a connection. Celiac disease is also listed in this article as a cause for canker sores: https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/canker-sore/symptoms-causes/syc-20370615 Are you observing a strict gluten free diet? You might also look into reducing iodine consumption as that is known to help with herpetiformis dermatitis. Perhaps it will help with your canker sores as well.

Do you wear an M-95 mask left over from the pandemic when you handle flour? Do you eat out in restaurants? Do you take vitamins?
