There are no dumb questions. Dumb answers--well, I'm not going there. :o

You apparently have not worked in tech support... :D

It would be nice if you could jump to the next new post in a topic that you have already read or posted in instead of having to sort through the whole thing again. Maybe there is a new way, and I just haven't figured it out yet.

Click on the blue folder in front of the thread name and it will take you to the first unread (by you) post in that thread. If you just let your cursor sit on the blue folder, it will even tell you than.

Thanks, it worked but only on ones I haven't read that are dark blue.

If it isn't dark blue that means there are no unread posts. The information is current as of when the page was displayed. You can refresh to get an update.

Makes sense. I'll blame it on sleep deprivation and after effects from surgery. :P That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

I cannot post things from my nook tablet (i think it uses opra?). With the old forum i could tap the box and just type away. Now I cannot. All of the buttons work on it, but the box won't :(

I think you need to clear your cache. I googled "opera nook tablet clear cache" and got simple instructions.

If you can't finnd them I can copy them for you when I am on pc rather than cell.

There could be issues with the green buttons at the bottom of posts...I am still working on them, but I haven't tested them on different platforms. Let me know.

Not the End of the World but close.... I wish we could get the smileys and the editing features of italics, colors, etc on the iPad. I could get them before.

I'll take a look at the iPad here soon and see what I can do...

Spell check on Firefox is now working. Thank you!

The whole site, and individual threads load very slowly. I haven't seen this difference in other forums so I don't think it's me. Slow, as in: click on a thread, open a new tab, go to Yahoo, find a story to read, then check to see if C.com has loaded.

Same here. Very slow.

Also, I get "Firefox prevented this site from redirecting to another page". My FF recently crashed and I completely reloaded, so couldn't tell you about previous behavior in this regard. I get the above statement for a lot of sites, so it's not c.com specific.

Also, I had a post disappear. It was the one for which spell check worked. Spell check is NOT working on this post, so I assume it will be fine.

Hmmmmm . . . well, it is Halloween.

Slow here, as well . . . not outrageous . . . but slower than pre-update.

Also . . . just a suggestion . . . you might want to move the Report button or change it's color as you might get some unintentional reports by people who are just trying to quote/reply . . . but maybe not.

I was going to suggest that, too. But then the power went off at the server! Maybe we could make the "report" button red?

As it is, it is rather err... prominent

Just an update:

I cleared both my catch and cookies on my tablet. Now i can't log it on it (huh? o.o) and while it will sometimes let me click the text box, it refuses to pop up the keyboard. Mind you it works just fine on any other forum site and the search function on this one.

I just don't get it.

I have "new posts" on my favorites bar. It usually shows threads with new posts made within the last 24 hours. It was working fine before the power outage yesterday, but this morning page one shows threads from 2006. When I go to pages two and three everything is fine, then if I click back on page one I get new posts like normal. I didn't even notice until I had read half of the "new threads" that they were six year old threads. So, can you fix page one, and while you're at it, can you fix my unobservant, muddy brain?

mushroom Proficient

Just click on "View New Content" at the top.

Lisa Mentor

As Jess mentioned earlier and as I added my "two cents worth", venturning from thread to thread is VERY slow. Perhaps, it's storm related.

I had the same thing happen. Cleared the cache/history and I'm back in business. (I'm using Firefox)

I haven’t had any noticeable reactions to salt so I will continue using it. I think I just freaked out when I realized this but it doesn’t cause me any discomfort- so thanks!
    • plumbago
Ok, thanks. I'm so glad to hear you are in the hands of a dermatologist. I hope he/she has given you 1) a diagnosis; and 2) a plan of care with a couple of options so that you have buy-in and comfort with it. I have some ideas, but not having seen the abscesses or you in person, it doesn't really make sense for me to kind of ... speculate further. But your question was regarding gluten, and you've gotten a couple of other follow up questions and answers that are good, including the idea to keep a food diary. Let us know if we can help further or answer any other questions. I'm sorry you're going through this, it sounds very painful.
    • LookingForAnswers101
@plumbago They appear as boils. They are big, like the size of a nickel--quarter, and they hurt when I touch them. I have gone to the same derm for them over and over and she thinks my body is colonized by a bacteria, but even after using hibiclens all over my body they come back.
    • Scott Adams
Welcome to the gluten-free community! It’s great to have you here. While gluten sensitivity or celiac disease can indeed cause skin issues, such as dermatitis herpetiformis (a blistering rash), abscesses in areas like the lower buttocks or thighs are less commonly linked directly to gluten. However, chronic abscesses could be a sign of an underlying immune or inflammatory condition, which might be worth discussing with a healthcare professional. Some people with gluten-related disorders also experience secondary issues like bacterial overgrowth or immune dysregulation, which could potentially contribute to recurrent infections. It’s always a good idea to explore all possible causes, including gluten sensitivity, with your doctor. In the meantime, keeping a food and symptom diary might help identify any patterns. Wishing you the best on your health journey!

You say you have gluten sensitivity? Have you been officially diagnosed with celiac disease or do you refer to NCGS?
