Bisquick has shortening in it, so yes you can but here's the ratio for Pamela's to shortening:

something weird happened today :blink:

I was outside shoveling (bundled up with gloves and everything) and three of my fingers on my left hand started hurting. I thought nothing of it and kept on going. I finally come in and those three fingers were simi-swollen (the third finger especially) at the ends :blink: Nothing was in the glove and they were rather big on me as well. As of the past twenty minutes two of the three are nearly back to normal and the third is still sort of swollen (its under a heating pad at the moment).

This is new :blink:

I've never had that happen before.

Hugs shadowicewolf. Try not to think about school for a while. Your hands any better? Could it be an allergic reaction or something?

A friend of mine had a t-shirt made for me. It has my motto "my body is trying to kill me" written right on my bum. :D So next time I go running I will be a living ad for autoimmune disease awareness!

Hugs & Kisses to everyone traveling. I hope our midwesterners safely make it to their destinations. After the holiday I might start a thread on the dangers of pills covering up illnesses and how hard it is to get off of them Any comments? I've been going through wicked withdrawal off ALL meds. I know I have celiac, CLL, Epstein Barr but I came too close to killing myself because I was told to take a pill. Anyway, pardon my mini rant. I've been up all night.

If I'm offline I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday surrounded by those they love most and I'll see you next year.

P.S. still planning the birthday bash on the 19th anyone near Princeton, NJ welcome for gluten-free pizza. Obviously it will be pushed back if I still feel like this.

Last day of finals for the High School and all the grade school kids have thier parties today....school cancelled. The wind is wicked. It rained before the little bit of snow, so it might be icy underneath. Glad M doesn't have to drive in it.

      Thank you. That’s all really helpful. I think it must have been something she ate as the poo colour has settled now.    Starting to see improvements in her tummy, slowly but surely!

      I take all vitamins and supplements.  My cardiologist has me taking B12 5,000 once per weeks.  He gives me complete blood work every 6 months.  He's still building my D levels which is now in 60s.  He wants them in low 80s.  I take 5,000 IU's daily.  With this dosage I've gone from 42 to 65 over a period of about 5 years.  It builds very slowly.   As far as iron, I take a double dose of gentle iron with C on an empty stomach on alternate nights.  Yes, iron is a component for many of us with RLS, but mostly "brain iron" that in some people may require iron transfusions.

      The positive DGP-IGA indicates the possibility of celiac disease. It is typical for someone who does have celiac disease to have some antibody tests be negative and others positive. In general, the DGP-IgA test has been reported to have a sensitivity ranging from 75% to 95% and a specificity ranging from 90% to 100%. Overall, the DGP tests, including DGP-IgA and DGP-IgG, exhibit a sensitivity of approximately 85-95% and a specificity of about 95-98%.       Yes, get serum antibody testing done for celiac disease. You could also have NCGS (Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity). NCGS shares many of the same symptoms of celiac disease but does not damage the lining of the small bowel as does celiac disease. There is no test for it. A diagnosis for NCGS depends on first ruling out celiac disease. It is 10x more common than celiac disease. Some experts feel it can be a precursor to the development of celiac disease. Eliminating gluten from your life is the antidote for both.
