Hey Peter -- you there? It seems we need another edit...we need a link to this thread at the end of the ORIGINAL Silly Pages.

Here is what I hope will really be the last post over there. Scott has applied a fix for long topics, but I don't want to push our luck. This is the third time that I have tinkered with it since Scott closed it. Fingers crossed. :o

I want cold weather, this 60s buisness in late november is not good for my area.... we should have collected snow by now.... and killed off all of the wasps....

Welp, only one baby. I think the other eggs are toast as she is taking the wee fuzzball out for long walks around the pen and the other eggs are cold. The best hatch I got was by locking her in the cage with her own food and water, so I suppose I may do that if I ever really want more demanding balls of fluff.

Had a fab Tgiving. Mom's gluten-free, dairy free, egg free pumpkin pie, bro's amazing gluten-free, df, ef rolls, and my amazing gluten-free,df,ef stuffing.

Making your ham and bean crockpot soup tomorrow. Using smoked dark meat turkey instead of ham. Yum! M, Hub & I love it!

How did Mom make pumpkin pie egg & dairy free? My SIL would love that!

Alright guys, this is the weirdest cold thing i've ever had i think. No coughing, clogged head, runny nose, mild fever, and somewhat achey.... I've had it for 4 days so far and its... grrr... at least its not messing with my balance. Lots of steamy showers, water, honey, and next to no sleep (downside of being a college student).

I hope it doesn't turn into something serious (like chicken pox.... pnemonia..... something).... the last three weeks of a semester are... a figurative.... h*** in a sense... with finals, massive papers, etc.

Though i got a paper back from one of my history courses (upper level) and got a B+ on it (made me happy  ).

well, egg yoke free. Bro can eat egg whites

BRM piecrust recipe:

http://www.bobsredmi...il.php?rid=1126

used Nucoa (sp?) for the margarine, and almond milk for the milk

don't bake the crust

Libbey's canned pumpkin recipe:

http://www.verybestb...Pie/detail.aspx

used eggbeaters (which are basically egg whites with some stuff https://www.eggbeaters.com/products/ )

used an extra 1/2 egg for two pies, so maybe 4 egg whites if you don't want to use the mix

coconut cream (thicker than coconut milk)

-----1 14 oz can coconut cream

----------about 8 ounces of almond milk (I was trying to thin it to the consistency of evaporated milk)

if you use regular coconut milk (which we have in the past) just use it straight

I also added a shot of nutmeg, because I like nutmeg

I think we ended up cooking it about 10 extra minutes. Crust got a little dark, but the middle wasn't jiggly.

Served with coconut vanilla ice cream

Nucoa may be regional (http://www.vrg.org/blog/2010/04/29/nucoa-margarine-still-an-all-vegetable-product-despite-label-change/) but I imagine your normal butter substitute would work just as well.

Thats similar to what its like. I'll feel good for part of the day, then it unleashes itself. I refuse to take anything because my fever isn't very high (only 100+ is when i take something for that) and i'm not coughing up a lung. Sooooo.....

Thanks. I don't know if she even knows which part of the egg she can or cannot eat. This also answers my other SIL question she wanted me to ask about coconut/almond milk in the pie.

Thanks. And congrats on the new feather child!

We have all had something like that at our house. Its like your body is fighting it off, but can't stop it completely. Sleep is probably the best help for it so try to nap or get to bed.

Good job on the B+

shadowicewolf Proficient

what is this sleep you speak of? Last night i got four hours... ugh...

Today has been a somewhat bad day. Started off with a panic that my mail account had been locked (only to find out i put my name and password for my school email account into it instead of the right one, and somehow activated another mail account  nothin will come out of it of course but it caused a few minutes of panic).

Then, about an hour later, i found out from my current history professor that one of my favorite history professors passed away last week. In between my break for classes i broke down crying in a empty classroom. I had this professor for two semesters (two classes) and she was a very good person. I had hoped to take more of her classes this semester but she canceled them (now i know why). I'm hoping my University will do something for her passing because she was a senior professor there (taught there for 22 years).

Honestly, i'm not going to lie, i feel like ****. I had a samwich and some chedder cheese for lunch, just to get something in me. I've still got two more classes to go (two... 2.5 hour ones).

Just seems a bit wrong posting on page 2 of this thread... maybe I should disappear for a while again till the thread has time to grow...

Don't you dare!!!! It will really seem like the end of the world! Will have enough trouble when Lost Tales of Power is complete and a new series begins. When did Tickle Me Elbow begin.I think it was there when Queen Kareeng invited me along.

congrats on paper - YAY. My nose has been running for a month. Saw ENT today and of course it's partially the remnants of pneumonia that hospitalized me and partially my breaking cardinal rule and using big bad Afrin a week ago.

And did I hear we got a bunny baby? Congrats and much love. Mine's turning 21 in February  .

Wuv,

thanks :)

I found out from another history professor of mine that the vice chancellor of my school maybe doing a memorial for my late professor. I'm planning on attending if i can. She helped me so much and i figured it would only be a good thing for me to attend.

I'll be out of sorts for the next few days, no doubt. Times like these are when i really appreciate this forum.

Hi @Beck1430 You are very welcome. I am looking at your spelling of coeliac disease and see you spell it the English way.  If you are British, like me, perhaps you could update us if you are successful in getting genetic testing.  It seems more commonplace in the US.   I have been a diagnosed coeliac since 2013 I have not yet met anyone with coeliac disease who has had this testing, or members of their family, through the NHS, and I'd be most interested to know if you are offered it.   Cristiana

Welcome to the forum, @Jy11! The way you have posted his blood antibody test results is very confusing. TTg and IgA are not two different tests. These abbreviations should be combined into one expression: TTg-IgA. You seem to have listed the same test twice in 1. and 2. but with different results. Is the way you have posted the results exactly as they appear on the printout you were given? I cannot make heads or tales of the data you supply the way you have posted it. But let me say this. At the very minimum, there are two blood tests that should be run when checking for celiac disease: 1. total IGA and 2. tTG-IGA. The total IGA test looks for IGA deficiency. If a person is IGA deficient, then individual IGA tests scores will be artificially low and can result in false negatives. The most popular individual IGA celiac disease test ordered by physicians is the tTG-IGA. The EMA test is an older test that is not often ordered anymore and has largely been replaced by the tTG-IGA. The EMA test is expensive to conduct. However, if the EMA is positive, it is a highly accurate test and strongly suggests that the person does have celiac disease.  To summarize: 1. a physician should always check for IGA deficiency. 2. tTG-IGA test results are expressed in terms of being "normal" or "high" but not "deficient". 3. EMA test results are expressed in terms of being "negative" or "positive".  Here is an overview of celiac disease antibody testing:

Hi everyone! Thanks so much for your feedback on my post. Here’s the updated information: IgA 0.98 (Range 0.80 - 4.90) Tissue transglutaminase IgA Ab 45.4 (<=14.99 U/mL, Positive >=15.0 U/mL)

Hi I got my diagnosis about 3 months ago and has been gluten-free since that. In the beginning I started to feel better right after just a few weeks with things like joint pain disappearing, more energy and improved bowel movements. However, it seems like my recovery has sort of stagnated and my stomach has begun feeling worse as of lately. I find it very strange because I haven't really changed much from when I first got my diagnosis and I'm very careful with what I eat and CC. Is it normal for symtoms to come back or what experiences do you have? And how long did it take you from going gluten-free to having normal bowel movements regularly?

My 7yo has been complaining of tummy aches for some months. Bloods show very low iron and vitamin D. We have had multiple bloods as follows… 1. TTg 0.3 (normal) IgA deficient  2. TTg 6.6 (cut off is 7) IgA 0.54 (cut off is 0.5 so only just over not being deficient) 3. TTg 3 (cut off 7) EMA Positive We are awaiting biopsy but why are the blood results so conflicting? Is it likely he is coeliac? We have strong family history with dad having coeliac plus other relative. Can positive EMA be caused by anything other that coeliac disease? It has been bought up the EMA could be from other inflammation but I can’t find any studies that say this?    thank you.
